Forward and backwards in time- a time travelers story

A curious finding

As if by magic she had been instantly teleported to a whole new era ..and not the future kind ..
Emily sat up dazed in the middle of what seemed an old fashioned center. She looked down at herself to find she had sported and elegant and old fashioned outfit."Oh my goodness ...what am I wearing.." she exclaimed. "And where am I ?!" she said  confused.
She gave a look around to find a whole street bustling with stalls selling things from antiques to clothing. It wasn't the usual market she would sometimes see back home .. everyone was dressed differently. As if ..she was in another time period.
Suddenly a young man of about her age came up to her and lended a helping hand. "Hello lassie, what's the likes of such a lady as yourself doin' round these parts , quiet odd must I say " , he said it in a warm inviting tone giving Emily a tingly feeling. She accepted his help and he carefully helped her up off the floor.
Emily being a supposed lady elegantly wiped off the specks of dirt on her skirt. "I'm not from around here ..do you mind telling me what this place is ..and what era we are in..", she said this carefully. The boy on the other hand roared in laughter . "Oh me lady, seems you've been locked in your home a long time , haha good joke m'lady", he said with a cheeky bow.
"Wait I'm being deadly serious here ", she said unamused.
The young man once again burst out laughing. " Oh m'lady ..we are in the rein of our queen Victoria , welcome to London",he said helpfully. "I see ..",Emily replied "well I best be off good sir , good day " she said politely. "Oh m'lady don't you fret I am not of a sir but a simple man, hard working and taking life to the best of my abilities, m'names John what's yours", he said seriously. "Oh it's a pleasure to meet such a humble man as yourself, I'm Emily",she replied."Pleasant name if I do say so myself", he said with a bow.
And with that Emily set off once again giving a curtsy to the gentleman."Maybe we shall meet again good sir ?", she said in a friendly tone. John tipped his hat as to signal a yes and with that walked on.
