But I Like Kirstie

---------------------------------------

The trio has been together for a year now, singing songs they love and spending almost every minute together. Throughout this expanse of time, Scott has developed feelings for Mitch. They've been best friends since elementary but he realized that he really liked Mitch when he started singing with him and Kirstie and hanging out 24/7.

One day Scott went over to his house to hang out. He was excited and ready. He was ready to finally ask Mitch out.

He arrived at his door with a bouquet of beautiful flowers and the biggest smile on his face. He rung the doorbell and waited. His heart was beating fast and butterflies filled his stomach. He was almost literally counting down the seconds till Mitch opened up the door. He finally did, and his face was full of shock when he noticed Scott's nice clothing and the expensive flowers. He was even more shocked when a couple words left Scott's mouth, "Mitch, I've liked you for awhile now and I was wondering if you'd like to go out?" He said it with the most confidence he had. Mitch was shocked and had no idea Scott had feelings for him. He felt bad though because he didn't feel the same way, he liked Kirstie. He didn't say anything for awhile and as he looked at Scott, he could slowly see the pain fill his eyes. He didn't know how to say it. "Come in," he said quietly. Scott walked in slowly, unsure of what to do. He looked into his eyes and debated what words should come out of mouth next, he didn't want to hurt Scott, but it was already too late. "I'm flattered by the gesture and it was really sweet of you...but I like Kirstie," he looked down at the floor by the end of his sentence.

"I understand," Scott whispered and with that he left. Mitch opened the front door again and yelled after him.

"We're good, right?"

"Yeah, no worries," he gave Mitch a forced smile and waved his hand in the air like it was nothing. Mitch felt so bad but was glad things would be okay between them.

For the next few days Scott tried to get over Mitch, but to no avail. It was hard not to have feelings for someone like Mitch! He was sweet, kind, funny, so so attractive. He was everything he could ever want.

Mitch wanted to ask Kirstie out, he's had a crush on her for awhile and he thought she felt the same way. He knew Scott would be okay with it, they'd always been best friends. He thought of the perfect way to ask Kirstie to be his girlfriend.

Mitch asked Kirstie to come over so he could show her something. That something would be a song he prepared for her, to ask her to be his.

He heard a light knock at the door and he knew it was her. His stomach roared with butterflies and his heart was pounding out of his chest.

"Hey!!" She squealed excitedly. He always loved when she did that.

"Hey Kirst!" He leaned and hugged her gingerly, lingering longer than usual. She didn't seem to mind which was a good thing. "So, I want your opinion on something, tell me when I'm done," He looked into her beautiful, gleaming eyes. She smiled brightly at him and went over to sit on the sofa.

"Sure!"

He was so nervous, he really hoped she'd say yes. He went to the kitchen to grab a rose and came back to the living room to see a surprised and slightly confused Kirstie. Then he started singing: Kiss Me Slowly by Parachute.

"Well I'm not sure what this is gonna be, but with my eyes closed, all I see," he looked into her eyes, pouring the emotion into the song.

"Is the skyline, through the window, the moon above you and the streets below,"
