The air was getting cooler. The wind was beginning to release a few breaths, chasing the heat of the neighborhoods of Paris in the middle of summer. In contrary, the number of vehicles and civil traffic was increasing. Roads, parkings and even sidewalks were cluttered on all sides. This noisy spectacle was repeated incessantly, finding no point in it, as the night was revealed. The latter slowly invaded public places with sparkling insignia, not being the last to suffer the same agglutination of civilians.
Sitting on a bench in the middle of a sidewalk and cell phone glued to his ear, Wonshik was as silent as his partner by his side. The beeps sounded faintly in the center of the hubbub, forcing him, with his free hand, to isolate his second ear from unwanted noises that prevented him from concentrating on the target of his hearing.
And while the monotonous buzzing continued to buzz, a movement caught his attention close to him. His intense eyes finally deigned to venture on Taekwoon's soft face, to descend on his fingers nervously flapping on the thin silver links on his wrist. The overwhelmed gaze of the brown man undoubtedly meant the absence of his consciousness among reality. It evaporated silently in a tornado of mysterious reflections to which Wonshik could unfortunately still not have access. To his dismay.
It was not that he wanted to see all the words in the tumultuous battalion that served as the head of his companion. Some things should belong only to him. But the silvery simply wanted to understand the reasons for the latest upheavals in Taekwoon's life in order to remedy it, without however exceeding the threshold of its limits. Of course, like any human being, he needed a secret garden where he alone could store countless words and thoughts that would never leave this place, or on very rare occasions. And because of the more or less original ways that these things could take, it was much better if no one had access to them. Question of respect. And pride.
However, some tension was palpable in him. A different tension from this lethal aura that he had the power to extend over a very long perimeter when Jaewhan was screaming near his eardrums, when Wonshik was using his legendary clumsiness or when Hakyeon was trying to prove his invasive affection to him at all costs.
This time was about his patience. And only God knew how much it was a bad idea to playing with the patience of Princess Taekwoonie, with the risk of waking the lion that slumbered behind this hamster facade... It was in those moments that his fangs left the most traces under his bites. A chance that he does not get out of his clutches. For now. An ounce of mistrust was not too much... Appearances are just masks. An animal always kept wild instincts, as cute as it is.
At least a few snatches of the one he knew had remained intact since his accident... The youngest could be content with it as a minor consolation.
This mood sometimes deficient in his hamster was even more at this time, being strained as the sun's rays weakened, their light source slowly declining to hide behind the monuments of Paris including the famous Eiffel Tower, and so give way to a sky with bright fiery colors. So slowly... So much so that it had become unbearable for the two young men who were patiently waiting in the middle of a sidewalk in this damn shaken downtown, spying on every familiar face, for many minutes now. And that was not counting the hours they had wasted circling the same neighborhood, passing and repassing in every corner of these streets that had ended up imprinting themselves in their memory for a long time.
So far from it the idea that they had gone astray again without being able to find their way. With two brains capable of memorizing a minimum the trajectories borrowed several times, a plan, as well as structures or specific objects already seen, it would have become worrying not to know where to locate, even in a city visited for the first time. Unless you dedicate your time to watching pigeons flocking to the sidewalks or wires. Or to imitate them. As Jaewhan would do so well.
