"Maya there you are" Charmaine exclaimed hugging me. Her face was lit up and she had a big ass smile on her face.

"Andre's out of surgery and the Doctors' said he survived which is a miracle since the first time they tried to remove it they made it worse" she exclaimed squeezing me. Shit my arms still sore.

My face lit up at the news and I couldn't help but carry a big smile on my face. "Is he awake yet?!" I asked, as we walked through the corridor with our arms linked. "Not yet...they said he stable and should wake up soon" she smiled.

"Listen babygirl I wanna thank you for not giving up on my baby and for not letting me give up" she said as tears formed in her eyes. I warmly smiled at her and gave her a quick hug.

We soon parted ways as I went back into my room to gather my shit. I was getting discharged today - finally.

I entered my room to see Cainon posted on my bed with his legs up. "Err your so rude" I joked as I entered.

He smiled and jumped up to hug me. I looked to my bedside table and saw a big vase of my fave flowers. I looked up at him and smiled, before approaching them to read the little card.

'Sorry for not protecting your stubborn ass' it read.

I looked at him and smiled, it really wasn't his fault, he ain't shot me.

"Cainon I should be the one apologising...they were after me" I said sitting on the bed.

"Maia you were lucky with this one, what if the next nigga you piss off actually kill you" he pointed out.

I just rolled my eyes and played about with the flowers.

This shit just be déjà vu for me. One of the main reasons why we broke up was that we always used to fight over what I do...when he does the same thing.

"Cainon let's not" I sighed, gathering all my shit together.

*phone rings*

I looked at the caller ID and kissed my teeth.

It was some girl called Tanisha, that I go school with. This chick cool but something 'bout her be shady. Plus she try jump on Cainon whilst we were together but shit we cool now.

She was calling me to invite me to some party she was holding in 4 days, this Saturday. I reluctantly agreed to it since I ain't have nothing better to do.

"Don't tell me you thinking bout going?" Cainon asked, raising an eyebrow. Shit why not, I hope all my niggas roll up too since parties bring quite a bit of income in.

"Yh so" I shrugged. "I need a party after my week"

Cainon half smiled and took my duffer bag. "Wait cainon Imma go see if Andre's awake?!" I yelled out.

"Aight imma put the bag in the car and meet you there" Cainon yelled back.

I picked up my phone and made my way to Shades room.

11:29am

His whole family was posted in the room but proceeded to exit as I entered. "oh no y'all don't have to leave" I protested.

As I walked through Shades Gran came up to me and gave me a heartfelt hug. "God bless you child" nana Pat whispered in my ears.

"Y'all don't gotta leave" I approaching shades.

"We need some air anyways" Charmaine said smiling.

I sat down next to Shades on the bed and held his hand as I monitored the heart monitor, which now displayed a stronger heart beat.

It reminded me of the time when Melvin got shot and shades how shades sat by his side all throughout till his heart gave out.

And all the time he spent sitting by his brothers side he would just watch the heart monitor and pray his bro pulled through.

*20mins later*

"Maia you ready?!" Cainon asked, peeping his head through the door. "give me a sec" I replied turning to Andre.

"Bruh when you wake up from this coma, I'm finna beat your ass for making me cry...you know I ain't like that shit" I whispered and gently pecked his cheek.

"Leaving so soon" I heard a faint familiar voice breath down my neck. I froze and turned to face shades, this nigga finally opened his eyes.

"Welcome back to the land of the living" I smiled, giving him a quick hug.

"More like hell" he mumbled sitting up. "How long have I been out?!" he asked, trynna regain function of his body.

"6 days brah" I responded, still smiling.

"oh shit brah is Obama still president?!" he joked.

"I'm glad your able to buss jokes...I thought I lost you bruh" I stated, rolling my eyes.

"I got you remember" he stated smirking. "yh" I sighed getting up.

"You know a nigga heard erething all you niggas said to me" Shades smiled.

"Maia, Eden said she trynna reach yo ass but your phone keeps ringing out" Cainon said walking in.

"Oh Shit!! welcome back brah" Cainon said dapping him. "bro I honestly thought you were gone" he continued.

"Niggah!" I whispered, tapping Cainon on his chest. Shit I forgot how fucking tough his chest was. Cainon noticed and smirked at me.

"Nigga I ain't go down easy" he smirked.

"That's what's up my niggah" Cainon chuckled dapping him again.

"Charmaine!!" I called out, "come here!!"

Charmaine came whizzing in and almost fell to the floor when she saw her Son awake.

Me and Cainon took our exit as Shades family came pouring in the room.

We walked up to the car and I sat in the shotgun and started texting, whilst Cainon got the car in gear.

*phone call*

"Yo Maia it's Kai, you out of hospital yet?" he asked.

"Yh wait why you calling with an unknown ID?" I asked confused.

"Yh...I'm at The state pen and need you to post my bail" he said getting straight to the point.

Jail really?! Great that's just what we need with dad in town.

"Aight fo what doh?"

"You know the usual possession of illegal firearms, and drugs" he responded as if it was nothing.

"Hurry though cause a nigga tired of sitting in this shithole"

"Aight gotchu" I replied hanging up.
