Hermione reached the door, and apparated away with a pop. She didn't look around to see where she was before collapsing on the floor in tears.

She felt a sharp pain by her shoulder, and looked down to see her arm was drenched in blood. Damn splinching. She then observed her surroundings, hoping to find something that could help her stop the bleeding. She had somehow ended up in the Burrow.

Bella stared at the door, where the only person she had ever truly loved had just walked out on her, giving her no explanation as to why. She felt a strange sensation in her chest, a pain that she'd never felt before.

It was coming from her heart. What was this nonsense? She tried to distract herself, but her mind went fuzzy, and she had to sit down.

She collapsed down on the sofa, and begun to weep uncontrollably.

"Who's there?" a voice called from above. "I know you're there!"

Hermione jumped at the sound of that familar voice, and guilt and dread grew in her stomach. She had hoped she wouldn't have to face him again, at least not for a while. Oh, why had she come to the Burrow?

"Here," she meekly cried. "I.. I don't know why I'm here." She felt tears form in her eyes, and she instantly forgot the pain in her arm.

"Hermione? Is.. is that you?" the familiar ginger hair peeked around the door. "Is it really you?"

"Yes, it's me," she sighed heavily. "But I don't know why I'm here. I just- I don't-"

"I can't believe it's really you," he stood in the door way, staring at her, a look in his eyes that she'd never seen before. Not even from Bellatrix.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't be here," she got up and began to wait to the door, her arm beginning to hurt again.

"Wait. You're hurt!" he said, stepping towards her, trying to stop her leaving.

"I'm fine, Ronald. I shouldn't be here, so pretend I never was. When I made my decision, I had to leave you, and all this," she indicated the Burrow. "Behind. I had to forget about everything, walk away from it all. Because I love her, Ron. I really do. And nothing you can say is going to make me stay."

"Please, Hermione, just let me heal your arm," he whispered. "Please."

"I'm not stupid, I can do it myself," she snapped. "Now let me leave!"

"I'm not stopping you," Ron whispered, and he stepped towards her. "I'm letting you leave, if you want to. But let me just say one thing first. I love you, Hermione. I always have, and I always will."

He placed a hand on either side of her face and leaned in to kiss her.
