A/N: Hello! Welcome to Chapter 1! This fanfic is written from the point of view of Billie-maii Mahon, Preston Mahon's daughter, and kind of writing it FOR her. If you're reading this note, Hi Billie! But I'm also writing for all those non-Billie's out there! Alright I know, enough blabbing. Here it is!
I slipped on my white shorts and buttoned them, glancing in the mirror one more time to twirling a curl around my finger. It was important to look good today, I was going to see One Direction. I’d hung with them a few times before but I want to look my best every time I saw them. My dad Preston was letting me come to work with him at a CD signing and I got to hang out with the boys for a while before and after they worked. Maybe someday Niall would notice that our blue eyes went very well together at that meant we must belong together. I quickly brushed down the front of my flower print blouse as my mum called for me from downstairs. “Okay, I’m coming!” I shouted back, pulling on the heel of my shoe while hopping out of my bedroom. Running down the stairs I grabbed my purse and hugged my mom waiting at the front door.
“She’s ready, Preston!” My mom hollered just as my dad walked around the corner from the kitchen, keys in one hand, fistful of chips in the other. “Be polite and don’t bother your father when he’s working…or the boys, alright?” She prompted me.
“Alright, alright.” I muttered, speedily walking towards the car. I jumped into the passenger seat and buckled in as my dad started the ignition. The last time I saw the boys I was with my older sister. They seemed a bit more interested in her, all except Niall. He gave me his hoodie that night. It was cold, and as I walked to the car park, goosebumps came up all over me. Niall had noticed and put his jacket around me, not even asking if I wanted it. I had convinced myself that it still smelled like him. It was like soft cologne and a warm hug. Niall’s hugs were the best. His arms wrap all the way around you and hold to tight to his chest until you wondered if he had superglue on his arms. When he let go you suddenly felt cold, and pulling away, you would smell Armani cologne.
We pulled up to the mall and my dad handed me my pass so I wouldn’t get thrown out if we were separated. He pushed through the masses to a back door. I was lead down a hallway and to a large gray metal door. There was no indication for what kind of room it was, only a small sign with the room number printed on it. Inside it looked like it was at one time simply a large storage room. But a beige carpet had been laid out, a couch and chairs put in, and a table set up on one side covered in platters of food and bottles of water. People in black shirts and jackets with SECURITY and CREW plastered across them, mulled about or rushed in and out of the room. Most of the chairs were occupied, by none other than a blonde, striped, curly, plaid, and quiffed quintet of young men. My dad walked by them and slapped a hand on the back of the couch, “Good mornin’ boys!” A chorus of “Morning!” and, “Hey Preston!” rang out.
“Hello Billie-maii!” Liam had noticed me standing awkwardly near the door when he turned around to see my dad.
“Billie!” Harry and Zayn greeted me at the same time.
“Bills!!” Louis shouted, standing up from his chair.
“Billieeee!” A familiar Irish voice shouted. Niall jumped out of his seat and spun around. He threw his arms wide and ran at me, picking me up and squeezing unbelievably tight that it was a struggle to breathe. But i didn't mind. When he set me back down I could breathe again.
“Hi Niall,” I smirked at him, “Hi boys.” I replied to the others.
Liam smiled, coming forward to hug me like a normal person. “How have you been?”
I replied as the three came to hug me as well. “Pretty good actually. My school just got out for the summer,” I grinned at the boys. My dad promised to take me to a few of their events this summer. There wasn’t really time during the school year to go to any. All the boys nodded and smiled, saying, “Oh, yes, good, summer.”
“Great! What have you been doing?” Harry questioned, raising an eyebrow.
“Oh you know, hanging out with friends, staying up late, sleeping in later. Laying around in my pajamas all day.” I spoke with my hand, waving it back and forth lazily to show how relaxed my past few weeks had been.
“Awesome. Why don’t you take a seat, I’ll get you some water.” Louis encouraged, guiding me towards the chairs and couch before speeding back to grab me a water bottle. I didn’t really feel thirsty but I happily took it from him anyways as I sat in one corner of the couch. Louis sat across Harry's lap in one of the armchairs near me while Liam sat in the other opposite them. Niall placed himself on the sofa between Zayn and me, resting his arms over our shoulders and above our heads. I resisted the urge to scoot closer to him and lean into his side. But he just looked so cuddly! They all were so adorable and affectionate, I just wanted to have a big sleepover and have them all cuddle with me in one big king-sized bed. "Whoa. Okay, stop it Billie, that sounds creepy," I told myself, shaking my head at my ridiculous thoughts.
"How are the girls, boys?" I asked while looking from Louis to Liam to Zayn.
"Good, Danielle and Eleanor just did a charity race in Wolverhampton. They weren't really doing it for competition, mostly fundraising." Louis explained. Liam nodded along with what he said, smiling.
I turned my head and craned my neck around Niall to look at Zayn. "Zayn? How's Perrie? What's she up to?"
He looked at his hands before looking up and giving a half smile. "She's good yeah. She's promoting the new Little Mix album in Spain," He practically mumbled before looking back down at a spot on the floor by Harry's shoe. Zayn always acted weird and general when talking about his girlfriend, it was really odd.
Paul Higgins strode in and flicked a hand from the boys to the door. "Time to go boys, the ladies are waiting." Each of the boys stood up and began walking over to group around Paul, all of them but Niall. He stood over me with his hand out. I took it and stood up, but I wasn't to sure where he was going with this, I wasn't going to sign CDs with them, I had nowhere to go for a few hours. Niall looked at me expectantly and I gave him a quizzical look. He put his arms up and open wide. "Hug me!" He directed.
"Ohhh." I nodded. Spreading my arms wide I wrapped them around his torso, able to touch each opposite elbow. Dang he was skinny. He squeezed me tight for what seemed a normal hug length. I was about to pull away when I realized his arms had not loosened at all. I squeezed him a tad tighter and he squeezed back while leaning his head down closer to mine. I swear he nuzzled me just before pulling back and placing his hands on my shoulders, holding me at an arms length. I just stood there dumbfounded, wondering if I'd only imagined him burying his nose in my neck. He was grinning like an idiot when he bid me farewell, "Goodbye, m'lady! Until later this afternoon!" He wiggled an eyebrow and dashed off after Paul, my dad, Andy Davies, and the rest of the boys. The whole thing seemed like minutes but in reality, it only lasted no longer than maybe twenty seconds. I was left lightheaded, with a grin on my face and a rolling feeling in my stomach. I felt a longing for him to pop his blonde head around the door and say something cute to me. Who knew that in such a short amount of time, one pale Irish lad could make you so smiley, confused, and nauseous at the same time. I wanted to see him again. Just him this time. I wanted to date Niall Horan.
