I was sitting in the corner of a random café with my coffee, simply daydreaming out the window. The snow was falling and people were wrapped in woolly coats. Cars were zooming past the window, the bell on the door dinged as people went in and out and the world around me was a blur. I was thinking of the days that he and I would sit in the park spilling our hearts out to each other, snuggling up close and the trill of our first kiss. We hadn't been together long, but I knew that I loved him with all my heart.
I looked up from where I was sitting to see the busy café sitting before my eyes. There were people at the counter queuing as far as the eye could see. I knew no one and that was amazing. Well, it was until he walked in, beautiful as always. But there was another girl with him, I had seen her somewhere but I wasn't sure.
"She is clearly just his sister," I told myself. Instantly I knew I was lying. I watched them as they ordered their coffees and sat at a table on the other side of the room. They were sitting across from each other, fingers intertwined. He lent in and kissed her on the cheek.
I could feel my eyes as they began to pool up with tears. My shaky hands placed the empty coffee cup on the table and grabbed my jacket. He saw me as I got up. I tried my hardest to look like I didn't care but I know that that did not show through. That's when the tears really began. I sprinted out of the café onto the freezing cold street. I could feel myself about to break down. I needed somewhere to cry my heart out before taking the long bus ride home.
The snow began to fall heavier but I didn't care. I saw a telephone box up ahead and saw my opportunity. I climbed inside and slowly descended to the floor, crying as though the world was ending tomorrow.
