Papyrus was having a rough day at work. His co-workers, once again, had refused to work with him and left him to tend the ovens by himself. It was a busy day too, so he had to work double-time. He could handle it though! He was, after all, the Great Papyrus! The manager called out a greeting to someone entering, and he heard something about them being "finally well enough for work." Someone he hadn't met yet? Ooh! Maybe they wouldn't be as rude. They entered the kitchen, and he turned. The new person was wearing a black dress that swept the floor, but didn't drag. It clung to their figure nicely. The fabric was shiny silk, overlaid with lace in patterns he couldn't make out. Their nails were painted dark red, matching the lipstick and eyeshadow they wore. Their eyes were dark green, standing out well in the contrasting makeup. Their hair was very long, reaching their lower back, and dyed the same black as their dress, but he could see dark brown at the roots. His observations were interrupted by a ding, and he checked the cake balls baking behind him. Done perfectly! He heard his name and turned. "This is Papyrus, our newest employee! He's our hardest working, best artist, and our second best baker! Papyrus, this is Mordue, the usual baker before he got sick and had to stay out for a few days. He'll be helping you after he changes into his uniform!" The dressed figure, apparently a man, offered him a small smile. His voice was soft, like fresh red velvet cupcakes, and just as sweet. "It's nice to meet you Papyrus, I look forward to working together. I've heard good things from Risa." He gestured toward the manager. Then a delicate hand was offered, Papyrus gladly accepting it. His hands were surprisingly soft and smooth, the hands of an artist. They shook and parted. The two left, and Papyrus returned to the cooling cakes. Pulling out a tub of dark green icing and coating them evenly. Pastel green sugar next, and a tray of pretty cakes. One of their more popular items, dubbed "marimo cakes." They were fairly cute, fitting the pastel theme of the business. He set them out to be picked up and displayed, turning to check the souffles. A timer dinged, proclaiming a set of cupcakes to be done, and the checked them for color. The blue was a little darker than intended, but was salvageable. He pulled the tub of blue icing and candy decorations he made in-store, setting about making various pond themed designs. The pink teddy bear cupcakes were next, another popular item to be made in bulk. Mordue joined him soon, the dress replaced with the dark purple shirt and khaki slacks of the cooks, a pale pink apron on top. His long hair was pinned and netted. Papyrus eventually started conversation, and it flowed fairly easily. (In reality, Paps carried the conversation, Mordue just listened and responded every once in a while.) At the end of his shift, he happily exclaimed he looked forward to collaborating again, and left. He hoped they worked together again soon.
