Taking pictures, for me, is much more.

I have the ability to capture a moment, a memory, with just a click. Immortalize objects, places, people. A photograph lasts you all of your life, as if time were capable of freezing.

I used to think that my camera was all I needed to be happy.

But time passed, and I realized that the photographs no longer filled my emptiness, that there was no way I would feel complete if I continued to cling only to material things. Because, the truth is, I had no one left, nobody outside of the photos. Neither my parents, neither my friends, nobody. Everyone was gone.

The color was fading from my life, from my photos. I didn't find inspiration, I didn't find anything that would help me to keep going ahead. Everything I captured felt sad, lonely, lifeless.
I was desperate to find something that would change the course of things, something that would make me feel that my life made sense again, something that would show me that everything wasn't lost, that my life could be filled with color again.

And it is impossible to describe what it feels like when not even your passion can fill you completely. When you lose even yourself.

The day was gray. It seemed a storm was coming and I had forgotten my umbrella at home. It was as if bad luck was chasing me, refusing to get away from me.

It started to rain, yes, but it wasn't a bad day after all. Because I saw you.

I saw you there, with your blonde hair soaked and sticking slightly to your forehead. I saw you watching the sky, enjoying the touch of raindrops against your skin. I saw you with a beautiful smile that narrowed your eyes, a smile that seemed to be able to repel any darkness... maybe even mine.

Without realizing it, I had already raised my camera, and now you were the most beautiful thing my lens could capture. Because right there, under the rain, I felt that your beauty surpassed the physical and became something incredible, inexplicable.

When you noticed my presence and placed your eyes on me, something inside of me flourished. I didn't remember the last time I had felt that way, it seemed that my heart was going to come out of my chest. Your look was calm, beautiful, and I could only choose to stay completely still, trying to control the innumerable butterflies that turned in my stomach at the moment you gave me a smile... one only for me.

"Hey, don't you think you should ask first before photographing someone?"

"Uhm, I..." your calm voice took me out of my trance, and I could answer. "I'm sorry, I didn't want to bother you."

You let out a giggle and I felt like I was going to die right there, because you probably thought I was a complete weirdo or a stalker. Your gaze without detaching from me, made my shame grow more and more.

"Don't worry, there's no problem" you looked at me full of curiosity. "But... I would like to know why you did it."

"I... well... you looked so free in the rain, so calm, so real... I just wanted to capture that moment of transparency for me." I immediately opened my eyes and placed my sight on the ground. "u-uhm... I mean... I-I don't-"

Your laughter stopped me from talking, but you were shining so bright that it was impossible for me to hold back a little smile.

"Ah, that... that's cute" and you looked at me tenderly, with a tenderness I didn't recognize, one I had not received from anyone but you. "You are cute."

How some simple words had been able to awake so many feelings in me?

"I'm Park Jimin. What's your name?"
