a.p- rainstorm

it was a cloudy, stormy day today and you did not want to go to school. on rainy days, you just wanted to stay in and read or color. the only motivation to get up and get going was to see austin. he believed you guys were just friends and nothing more, but you had so many feels for him, it hurt you to not be near him. you finally force yourself out of bed and get ready for the day.

you leave your home and drive the 7 minute drive to school, and barely make it, as you get out of your car, the first bell rings. you saw no point in getting to school 30 minutes before school actually started. you walk to first period, the first of three periods you had with austin. you also believed french was stupid and you didn't know how you managed to get in this class, but you stayed because of him.

you spent half of the period actually studying and doing your work, because if you got a C anywhere on your grade, not only your parents but you as well would freak out. but the other half was spent thinking about austin as the thunder rumbled outside.

the day went on until lunch, when everyone crowded in the cafeteria, leaving the outdoors courtyard empty. you sat down next to your best friend haven for lunch. you never ate school lunch; it was gross. you randomly chatter with haven for about fifteen minutes until you sense a presence right next to you. you look over to see the long blonde hair and wide smile of austin sitting right next to you.

"hi y/n, haven. what's up" he says leaning his chin on his palm which were supported by his elbow on the lunch table. "um nothing... what's up with you today?" haven says giving you the "what is this bitch on" look. you shrug at her. "nothing just bored" he says in his quirky little tone. you turn your head away from him so you don't embarrass yourself.

"do you wanna study for that french test with me y/n? i wasn't really paying attention" he say turning from haven to you. "uhh sure. when and where?" you ask, your voice almost shaky. "well do you wanna come over after school?" he asks. you start to say no, but your best friend kicks you from under the table and quickly change your response. "sure" you say, smiling at him.

you were now anticipating the bell to the last period to rang. you didn't really need to study for the test, you understood the content, but it was austin were talking about. finally, the bell rings, and you walk to the front office area of the school, the rain still pouring, maybe even harder than it was before. "hey!" you hear from behind you, while someone touches you on the shoulder. "oh hey!" you say "wait how do you get home?" you question him. "oh i walk" he says, looking out the window, his smile draining.

"it's okay we'll walk in the rain!" you say bringing his smile back. the both of you walk out to the covered area of the front, and stand at the edge. "on three, run to that side" he says laughing. "one..." "two..." "THREE" he says sprinting from one side of the street to the other, you behind him. for only being in the rain for maybe 45 seconds, you were soaked. you both tried to stay dry as possible but it didn't work.

"there's no point in trying to stay under shade anymore" austin laughs, hinting at how wet each of you got. so you just walked in silence, to his house, only 4 minutes away. one you finally got to the front of the house, he stopped walking, and you turned around questioning him. "i don't really need to study for the french test" he says quietly, barely heard.

"what? i cant hear you" you say walking closer to him, rain covering the both of you entirely. "i don't really need to study y/n, i just wanted to do this" he said grabbing your hand to pull you closer to him. he pulls you into and kiss, and you don't object. the kiss continues for about 20 seconds, even though it felt like years to you.

"do you wanna go out sometime?" he says pulling out of the kiss. you blush a little and look down at your shoes, but then look up at him, and smile. "yes i would love to" you say, his smile now brighter than ever.
