jisung tied his black apron around his waist before wiping off the tables to get reading for the day. it was about five thirty in the morning, ten minutes before the cafe was supposed to be opened. well, supposed to, jisung always opened the cafe a bit early. working on a college campus usually meant a lot of customers during the day, but on most days, no one was here right now.

well, except for the boy in glasses standing outside the door.

he knocked against the glass door and pointed at the open sign. jisung was surprised that someone was here now but nonetheless opened the door for him.
"thank you," he said shaking his hair. it was obvious that he had gotten out of bed not too long ago, with his bed hair, half closed eyes, and drowsy voice.
"i haven't cleaned the machines yet, so it'll be a bit until i can take your order. is that okay?" jisung asked to which the boy nodded.

jisung cleaned off the machines as fast as he could, which still took a bit of time and when he turned back, the boy was fast asleep. jisung smiled slightly and went over to wake him. he shook the boy's shoulder slightly.
"sir, please wake up," he requested as the boy's eyes slowly blinked open. he sat up slowly and stretched before lifting his glasses to rub his eyes.
"what would you like sir?" jisung asked. the midnight haired boy yawned before answering.
"coffee," he asked with a look of sleepy irritation. jisung blinked.

"anything in it?"

"milk and creamer, a lot of it." jisung nodded and wrote this down.
"and what might be your name?"

"kim," a yawn. "taehyung," he answered through another yawn. jisung nodded got to making the coffee with ' a lot ' of milk and creamer.

he poured the ground beans into the cup, flattening the top with his finger and pressing it. he then loaded it into the machine, feeling taehyung's sleepy, yet intense gaze as he did all of this. he put the cup under just as the hot liquid started to come pouring out. when it had finished draining, he transferred it took the recycled paper cups that they always used.
he added the milk first, stirring it in. jisung then emptied the container of creamer into the coffee and stirred that in too before writing the boy's name. he would usually do this before, but he was the only person here, so it really didn't matter.

"one coffee," he said before placing it in front of taehyung. taehyung nodded in thanks.
"alright it's still hot-" before jisung could finish his sentence, taehyung had downed a fifth of it. jisung widened his eyes.
"oh my god are you okay?!" taehyung had a bitter face but nodded anyways. jisung sighed deeply before pulling up a chair.

"you know, if you don't like it you can tell me," he informed him seeing the look on taehyung's face. taehyung blinked and shook his head.
"no, it's better than most coffee, it's just that i'm not really fond of coffee." he made hand gestures as he spoke. jisung nodded.
"than why did you asked for it?"

"it's the only thing that will keep me awake,"

"have you tried five hour energy?"

"i slept through my entire lecture,"

"meditation?"

"slept trying to do that,"

"exercise?"

"i didn't even go to my lecture that time," he said sipping the coffee and making another painful face. jisung sighed once again.
"stop you look you're in pain," jisung pleaded.
"i'm always in pain," he replied standing up.

"how much do i owe you?" jisung stood up too.
"eight thousand won." taehyung reached into his pocket and pulled out a crumpled ten thousand bill.
"keep the change, i don't like walking around with a bunch of quarters in my pocket," jisung nodded and put the dollar into the register.
"what's your name?" taehyung asked suddenly. jisung looked up.
"jisung, kang jisung." taehyung gave a half smile and waved.

"well see ya jisung."
