She ran as fast as her little ole heart could take. Breathing heavily and could be considered as panting. In the back of her throat, felt like thousands of daggers were slicing. Her name was Midnight's Laughter. She was a sophomore at Opularis City High School.

Her third year since moving to a random city in dire need of faith and hope. Her mind flashes back as she remembers her hard, dark past, and how a couple of girls gave her the driving emotion to live and keep moving forward. With her friends, always by her side. She just ran a quarter mile from her apartment building. Her gaze drifts up into the grey foggy sky. midnight stood in front of the big brick building that was now old and rickety.

Autumn, ice cold wind blew by her face causing her blue pixie hair to shuffle against her mask. It retreated sight to her mouth or anything around it. No one knew why she wore it, she just did it was apart of her, or maybe someone she loved. The grey medical mask brushed against her lips as she stood, frozen in time.

Then blurs move past her as students start darting and bolting inside the school, some shrugging and bored, and others eager and excited. Diverse races of all different kinds. All wearing different types of emotions, swerve around her. She went limp and started to scoot along with the crowd. Observing all the kids as they rush into the building.

She walked through the rustic doors and into the loudness that pained her sensitive cat ears. She impatiently whipped her head left to right making body language to signal that she was looking for someone. Her best friend, YoungFire. She was pretty easily found because she dyed her hair bright red that looked just like a flame when you charge a lighter. Signaling the moments, again and again, shouting her name in the middle of motion as she moved her search into the auditorium. Her luminite bright red locks nowhere to be found.

"Midnight!?" she heard a yell behind her. She turns around and there were the bright red locks that bestowed on her close friend.

"Hey," Midnight stated happily.

"Whats up," YoungFire replied in a very similar tone

"Nothin' you?" Midnight repeated joyfully, as she mimicked the exact same tone.

"I was looking for you!" YoungFire exclaimed annoyed.

"So was I!" Midnight copied.

"Where were you??" Midnight added, slightly annoyed as well, as to she ran a quarter mile to school getting lectured once again by one of her closest friends. She ducked down, deep in her mind for a split second during the conversation. Preparing herself mentally, this is high school.

"The cafe.." YoungFire returning back into her cheerful tone.

Diagnosed with bipolar when she was young she was always rushing through emotions. They had a hard time reaching her brain at the right moments. A lot of kids bullied her but Midnight always stuck by her side.

"Yah," Midnight joked with a sly smile painted on her face.

"You get me some???!" Midnight continued

From behind YounFire's back, she pulled out two coffees. Both in a cup with an ingrained logo that read in a fancy cursive font reading, 'Sally's'.

"Thanks~" Midnight mumbled loudly as she made an attempt at snatching the cup before YoungFire whirled it, just out of Midnight reach

"Wait you thought this was yours??" YoungFire spurted out as if she was seriously confused with Midnight's mannerism.

"Gotcha, it is!" YoungFire added before Midnight and she started having another debate on 'use of manners' and how you should 'ask for coffee' the right way.
