Hundreds of years ago, there was an island by the name of Lenis; known for it's gentle seas and wonderful fishing. On the large and beautiful island, there was a large lake in the center of it, a legend being passed down from generation and generation about said lake. The Lake's name was Lake Caelestis and it was said that the lake was a portal to the heavens. For centuries, a message would be sent down to the Island's many villages from the six Gods. These messages were all written on an arrow, and each message had one simple thing on each of them; a maiden's name that each god fancied or found intriguing.
The maidens would be dressed in a beautiful gown and sent out into the middle of the lake in a small boat. If they refused to comply, the entire island would be swallowed up by the Sea, a Heat of a thousands suns burning down on it's inhabitants as the Wind blew the island away into uncharted islands. The Earth would open up for hell to rise, and Sparks from another world would be sent crashing down onto buildings and humans alike.
There were six villages that inhabited the large island, and one maiden from each was chosen. The first was the fishing village, the village that was closest to the water and extremely prosperous due to the many fish that were caught daily, and very few lived the life of poverty inside of it. The second village was a rural farming village, it was created by the fishing village, and many from the fishing and farming villages integrated together throughout the years. Although, many were not very financially stable in the farming village, and this was because of the ever changing seasons.
The third village was the mining village. There, many things were forged and created. This village was located farthest south of the six villages, and was known for it's immense heat and black smog that rose above the area due to the many forges that were used, as well as large amount of coal that was burned during the day and night. The fourth village was the mountain village. There, many animals were kept and breed; beautiful white pigeons being used to message one another. The wind was frequent there, and the air light. It was the most beautiful city on the Island. And finally, the fifth and sixth villages were a city of light and wonder by day but by night there were no loights except for the natural ones coming from the stars and sky this was the capitol of the island. Much noise and light was created from this village during the day and because of this, this village was the farthest north, and the farthest away from every other village. But at night the peace and calm from the darkness was loved by all who visited the capitol.
The six maidens would never return and sometimes, just sometimes, the villagers could see the outlines of dragons flying above the clouds, shortly after they had sent their maidens away onto the lake; when they were so far off that they could barely see them any longer. The dragons were said to be the second forms of the Gods, and were said to bring good luck to anyone who saw them. A large Water Serpent for the Water God, a Fire-Breathing Dragon for the Fire God, a Dragon that could cause Earthquakes with it's steps for the Earth God, a beautiful Dragon with large Wings for the Air God, a Electric Dragon that could shoot and create lightning for the Lightning God, and finally a pitch black shadow dragon with scales that glimmered like stars for the Dark dragon.
In the God's world, the last six maidens to appear were not as the Gods had expected. Some disobeyed their new husband's wishes, while others were mysteriously poisoned and died. In one way or another, all six maidens fell from their new pedestals, and as a result, it took many years for each of the six Gods to recover from their anger and hate.
It has been hundreds of years since those legends, and while many villagers eagerly await the next six arrows to appear, others have begun to lose faith in the gods. Yet, on one summer morning, six arrows were shot down from the heavens, and on each arrow that landed in each different village, there was a beautiful maiden's name written on it. Each maiden was forced into the boat with the five other unwilling participants, and were sent out into the middle of the lake, until they could no longer see any land around them.
The boat sat idly in the middle of the lake until midnight, when the moon hung beautifully in the starry night sky. It was then that a whirlpool appeared, and engulfed the small boat filled with the six brides. When they awoke, they were in another world, the world of the gods. For the villagers, all had gone back to normal; with few grieving for their lost loved ones. And for the girls? Well, there isn't much else to be said.
