I opened the door to see my ginger-haired best friend. "Hey Molester Moon," I said as she walked in. "What's up, Fuckwad?" She greeted me, grabbing something from her bag. "Youu girls and your insane nicknames." Cam stated, shaking his head. "Cam, you're a dork." Alexis said, laughing at herself. "Ya'll are lame." I joked, walking back to the sofa. I flopped back into my spot. Alexis trailed close behind, planting herself in the beanbag at my feet. "Is anyone else coming?" She asked my brother. "Nash, Carter, and Taylor." he replied. "ooh taylor." I cooed, mocking Alexis' crush on him. "You zip it!" She snapped, pointing a finger at me. I giggled a bit. "It's not funny.." She said, trying to hold back laughter. I glanced at Matt, who was laughing hysterically. I found it very attractive the way he laughed. His little high-pitched giggle. The way he laughs so hard that his eyes would squint. I looked back at my phone, texting Kaylee. I met Kaylee when I moved here. She was my only friend, until Alexis moved here, of course. Nash and Taylor busted through the door. "Do you guys knock?" I said. "Nah." Nash shrugged. Taylor looked at Alexis, walking towards her with a shy smile. "You guys wanna meet Kaylee at starbucks?" I offered. "Haha, you think i'm gonna walk all the way across town." Alexis replied. "I DO!'' Nash chanted. I should of known Nash would of wanted to come along. He had the biggest crush on Kaylee. "Good idea, Julia I love you." Nash screetched, hugging me. "Get off." I snapped. He did as advised. "So you aren't coming, Alex?" "That's funny you expect me to go out in public." She said, not breaking the gaze from her phone. Matt scrunched his face. "I hate coffee." He stated. "Me too." I told him. "I swear you two aren't human." Nash stated, walking out the door. "We'll be back soon!" I yelled to my brother. "Yeah you will!"
At night, Downtown Burbank was stunning. The street lights far above. The night sky beating down. The tall buildings. The fairy lights on the trees, twinkling. We walked past the Burbank Plaza. Nash, prancing in front of Matt and I. Matt at my side. Nash spotting starbucks and began running towards it. I chuckled to myself. "What a child." I muttered. Matt smiled. We reached the outside of Starbucks. I placed myself on a black bench across from some old ladies, sat at a round table smoking cigarettes. Matt rocked back and forth on his feet. I patted the spot next to me, praying for him to sit down. He did so. I shivered a bit, pulling my sleeves over my hands for warmth. "Why have I only met you tonight? Matt asked softly. I shrugged. "I don't like to be in vines or anything. I just tend to stay out of the spotlight." "But, why?" I shrugged. "I guess I still have drama from ohio. Getting told to kill myself and getting called fat." "-Are you serious?" "-Mhmm." "Those bitches!" Matt finished. I smiled. "Thanks."
"I mean it,though. You're stunning."
I turned away, ginning very big. He tapped me on the shoulder.
I turned to meet his gaze. His chocolate-brown eyes gazing into my soul. He stared to lean in, as did I. I still didn't understand what was happeneing. His lips pressed against mine. I felt his hands travel up my side. This was my first kiss-kiss. Well, besides 7th grade, It was with my friend, Cody, I just wanted it over with. Matt quickly pulled back, probably because Nash and Kaylee were walking out of the coffee shop, sipping on their lattees. Matt got to his feet and brushed himself off. He extended an arm to help me up. He raised a finger to his lips. "It'll be our little secret." He said in a hushed tone, giving me a quick peck on the lips before running to catch up with Kaylee and Nash.
