Chapter 1: One-shot story

I stormed out the canteen area and dashed into the females restroom. I looked myself in the mirror. My eyes were red and tears were trickling down my cheeks. I splashed my face with cold water and wipe dry.

Calm down. Breathe. It's temper controlling you! I thought as i walk back and forth the toilet.

Luckily no one was in. I could mutter things to myself alone.

Hi. My name is Aisyah and i'm sixteen. Here's my story. I have quite the temper especially dealing with bitter mouths like Rosnah. Ever since the day i entered Secondary islamic school, i hated that girl. I was new there and i had no friends. A girl by the name Kalthum, approached me first.

And so i thought, oh, i can be friends with her.

But to my surprise, Rosnah, a girl with some fashion sense was clingy to her and was always declaring Kalthum is her only one bestfriend. Though, Kalthum denied, just being close friends was enough, she couldn't do anything about it. Kalthum was my only friend i've talked to. Yes, im unsocialable. I wait others to approach before me. I had no idea why we three just couldn't get along together after on. Why can't Rosnah accept me as her close Friend? Even if coincidentally come along together playfully, but we end up not talking to each other the next day. This went on till the 2nd year in high school. Trust me, it's very tiring.

Anyways, I dried my eyes out and walk off the door as per normal acting nothing happened. Once again, Rosnah's temper caught me in a moment of sadness... again.

I walked home alone in despair. Then, a message rung from my mobile phone. I took it out and read it.

Kalthum:

Aisyah! Where are you! I searched for you everywhere! I'm extremely sorry to what Rosnah did to you. We should talk. You and me alone. Let's meet ok? Message me when you get this ok?

I smiled to myself. Kalthum really is a caring person. Without replying, i put my phone in my pocket and reached home safely.

The next day...

"Here," kalthum gave me a necklace. It was a heart-shaped charm that was decorated with engraved silver letters and said 'Friends, you and me'. Kalthum smiled and add, "just remember that that 'me' is me."

"Thanks! I'm touched," i replied with a bright smile. Lessons went on until the last period.

"Aisyah, let's go to the mall after school. We can shop clothes for 'Eid before Ramadhan comes! It's getting pretty near. It'll be fun. My treat for lunch!"

My face lit up. It's been a while since i last shop. But my mind came rushing to me,"Will there be Rosnah?"

Kalthum didn't replied at first, but then nods slowly. "But i'm sure it'll be ok! Come on. We have to strengthen our silatturahim (bond)," Kalthum said with a hint of positive thinking note on her voice.

"Ok, ok. Alright. We'll go the mall," i agreed before she could beg on her knees and pull my arms out.

The bell rung. Students were streaming out in every class like ants leaving it's colony. I saw Rosnah approaching the two of us.

Oh no. God, please help make the two of us be good.

"Assalam alikum kalthum! And.. aisyah." i bowed and immediately replied my salam awkwardly.

The rest of the day had been quiet. Mostly i'm the one had been quiet.

Kalthum gaze around the shop. Their jaw dropped in awe. Every space was almost filled with beautiful and pretty dresses.
