Nepeta and i start walking down the road towards my house, revising everything im about to say to her and trying to remember every detail that might be necessary.

"So you're friend seems to be avoiding you" ah shit she had to give it to me straight away.

"I know i know, it's kinda the problem we were discussing kk and i the other day" i answer right away, she steals a glance then looks at equius.

We arrive at our destination, i unlock the door and click on the light switch next to the door frame.

"Ohhh nice house" she sings, i nod at her getting pretty nervous with the other guy.

"Upstairs, lets get this over with"

"Alright, from A to Z give it to me all" she lets herself fall on the beanbag, equius right next to her.

I sit down on my bed taking a deep breath.

"Alright, look, we were discussing a problem that was - as you might've figured out by now- about some people avoiding me, i told him about eridan who suddenly detached, feferi who became friendlier as if a war between us has settled down, and now I'm telling you about kk, who just stopped talking to me without any warning." I explain, feeling troubled now that i stacked up everything together.

"What did you say to him- EXACTLY" she made clear

"Ok so, i told him about me meeting my dad and then hanging out with dav-"

"Dave?" She seems surprised, again the same expression drowns her face, putting things together.

"Oh god please dont leave as well" i mumble.

"No wait, are you by any chance.. an omega?" She asks, probably hasnt heard about it.

Definitely hasnt, why am i being stupid

"Yeah.. what about it?" I answer.

"Oh my god it's the scent!" She jumps up, "why didn't i think of that!"

She turns around in a sudden motion and gets closer to me, i feel a bit uncomfortable with her getting so close to my nest but she's not that bad so i just push it down.

"Sollux it's the scent, dave sat with you and since you haven't been marked apparently, you caught his scent, and that means when people come close to you they'd smell dave on you, karkat has been fighting with dave ever since you both hanged out because of how YOUR scent was on him as well!!" She explains

"Oh my god, but I wouldn't go with dave and he knows it, i know he likes him" i point out, feelings a sting of guilt for causing so much trouble.

"No it's going to be ok, since it wasn't a marking it's a faint smell, but only the ones who are interested in wanting their smell to be yours can notice them, at least notice them better than the others. Karkitty smelt you on him but I don't think he figured out who it was, or maybe he has but... he didn't want to confront you with it..." she gradually slows down, it does make sense, all of it, and i need to hurry up and fix it all.

"No eridan has been avoiding me because... he thought i had someone already? Why would he-" i was cut off short.

"Omfg dont ask it's gonna make sense later in the story " she squeals.

"Wait what story" she jumps to equius and grabs his hand, he's a really quiet guy...

Walking to the door, a toothy smile creeps on her face.

"Thanks so much! I really look forward to talking with you again, you go deal with your boyfriend ill try to explain to karkitty" she waves, walking out.

"HES NOT MY BOYFRIEND" i shout after her

"Holy shit, fuck i gotta find eridan" i grab my bag and run out after ten minutes, because it would've been awkward if i actually met her again outside at the moment.

"Shit shit shit where would he be" i pull my phone out and dial his number.

"Pick up pick up pick up" i keep mumbling repeatedly.
