The Day I Died but Didn't

Bang. The sound of ringing as a bullet left a government official's gun. My life flashed before my eyes and then it was over. I found myself staring into a grey void somewhere just near the verge of total death. But something brought me back from this point. A voice which said,"it's not your time yet".
I wasn't always a target to the government. I used to be the average standard civilian. But, I found things out I shouldn't have. All my life I was brain washed into believing into this "perfect utopia". I fell for all the lies to keep what was really going on a secret. To the countless videos we are forced to watch to the countless propaganda poster posted everywhere. Heck, even most of the buildings had the rules posted. It was all a way to control society. Give the masses only one idea and they herd around you like flies.
Now my death was all from a series of being at the right place at the wrong time. All it took was a falling wallet, some small talk, and a goodbye. I was going home from my job at a small grocery store when I noticed a wallet fall out of someone's pocket. I picked it up and greeted the stranger, returning the wallet like the good samaritan I was."Um sir, hi your wallet fell out,"I said offering it to him.
He smiled taking it returning it to its place,"thank you I didn't even notice it was gone." He was handsome no doubt, he had dirty blonde hair that gave off a ken doll vibe and hazel eyes that looked like a leaf falling in the November wind.
While I was talking to him, I didn't realize the routine officer watching us. I said my goodbye and went to depart to my three room apartment. But, it was not meant to be because in the next moment the officer was yelling,"stop right there!" My eyes widen knowing what was about to happen wasn't good. In a blink of an eye the stranger I had helped grabbed my hand and sprinted. It was a surreal feeling going from the basic average civilian to suddenly being a fugitive of the law and having no idea why. It's weird how in just one moment my fate changed. In just one moment my destiny was intertwined with this man I had helped.
He kept running, I followed close behind. My heart raced and my mind went through one hundred different scenarios as to why the officer was after us. At the time I didn't know, I didn't know the ugly face behind the mask of the perfect city I lived in.
The man held tightly onto my hand keeping me running into the great unknown. I saw we were heading towards woods and my mind thought finally were going to be home free. I was wrong so wrong. Bang. The bullet echoed and in seconds it hit me. I felt my strength fade and my mind start to go empty. I became tired and could barely stand. The stranger was hidden masked by darkness and the officer had fled back to his headquarters. The last thing I heard was the man's foot step and then his voice say ,"it's not your time yet". The last thing I felt was a sharp pain in my neck and then my conscious faded completely.
When I awoke I was in an unfamiliar bed with my neck sore. I rubbed it feeling two scabs. I shook it off it couldn't have been anything serious so I thought. And then almost on cue the person who had saved me walked in.
"Your awake now, nice to see,"he said.
"Where am I, how long have I been out," I asked with a mix of confusion and fear.
"Welcome to your new home, you've been gone for three days now,"he shrugged.
"What do you mean new home,I have to get back to my apartment, I have work tomorrow morning,"I shrieked.
"You're totally clueless you no longer exist in your city, you've been completely erased from the database and replaced by someone similar to you."
"But why and who even are you."
"Because they suspected you are a spy and the names Alexandra Capulet,"he said shifting his weight on the wall he leaning on.
"Um nice to meet you I'm Amelia, anyways why would I be suspected as being a spy,"I asked.
"Simple my dear you were seen with me and the government wants to kill me,"he replied.
"Why, what did you do,"I questioned thinking it was just your average crime.
"I'll tell you I'm a vampire and they are hunters, they want me dead to use me for their products and research,"he said coldly, a hint or anger was present in his voice.
"Woah, woah, back up you honestly want me to believe that you are a vampire, vampires don't exist,"I said in disbelief, boy was I wrong.
"Actually they do exist you don't know because you have been brain-washed all your life, you weren't in this country before the fall of America and the rise of The Utopia,"he replied.
I got out of bed taking a look at my surroundings and thought back to what happened,"say Alexandra, how am I alive I shouldn't be here if I was shot down".
"As I said I saved you by turning you into a vampire, the two scabs on your neck is where I bit you,"he casually told me as if this was just your average thing to do.
"There is no way I'm a vampire, they don't exist,"I repeated as if everything that had happen was just a big misunderstanding.
He looked at me and sighed,"guess you need proof". He opened his mouth to reveal two fangs making me shiver.
"Okay, so your an actually vampire,oh my god I'm one now, why did you turn me why couldn't you have let me die,"I yelled, I couldn't really tell you why I was angry but I was.
"Simple, it wasn't your time yet fate led us up to this point you were suppose to meet me, you were suppose to get shot and I was to suppose to turn you,"he told me.
"I-I..,"I was left dumbfounded. Is this really what fate wanted. Was this really suppose to happen to me of all people. I looked at Alexandra examining every little detail about him. He definitely didn't look like a vampire in the traditional sense. Well the traditional sense of run of the mill vampire books and movies. He wasn't a level of Edward or Nickolas perfect. He wasn't pale white and brown haired. He looked like a regular, average citizen. he had normal appearance flaws, some of his nails were chipped, his lips from what I could tell looked dry.
I found myself in deep thought, taking a step back and just going over everything that happened. All it took was a wallet exchange and some small talk to make myself a spy. A part of me didn't want to believe it. I wanted to believe this was all a dream that I would awake from. Everything I thought I knew was a lie. I was blissfully unaware of the corruption. It left me questioning just who I am. All my life I had listened to what government said and followed the many rules. And now I was almost killed as in act of silencing my voice.
They completely erased me it was like I was never alive. My family and friends don't even remember my existence. It was scary to think about not having anyone to care about me. I was completely alone. I was traveling deep into the unknown.
While I was thinking I felt a deep wanting for something. An intense craving for something I did not know. Alexandra most have noticed because he handed me a juice box.
"Here, drink This it will help,"he told me.
I took the juice box and drank it as if my life depended on it. It tasted good I didn't care there was a metallic taste to it. "What's in this,"I asked.
"Blood, you need it to survive and you haven't had any in three days,"he replied.
"Wait, So was I feeling bloodlust or something,"I said.
"That's exactly what you were feeling,"he explained shifting his weight so he was standing.
Normally I would of freaked out but I was in a different world and had to accept the new changes in my life. I was no longer Amelia the human but Amelia the vampire. I was still me just with the added fangs, bloodlust, and well being an enemy to the government. Who new life could escalate this quickly.
