Chapter 5

Breena was surprised by his sudden harshness, and realized she was being rude.. "Look I'm sorry Dashiell..I'm just terrified I've never been awake for so long.. And and.. I've never met a night catcher.." Dashiell whispered, "Our real name is the night flyers.. And you don't have to be terrified.. I'm here to protect you. If you would just trust me, we could get out of this tree, and explore.. Or we could both go back to our homes.. And never see each other again?"

Breena felt her heart ache at the thought of never seeing him again.. She do trust him but I don't know how to show it...I've never been that close to anyone not even my mom... She thought to herself and found herself scooting closer to Dashiell.

"Dashiell..? Can we meet up tomorrow at sunset..? I really wanna talk to my family.. I promise I'll be back," Breena whispered in his ear. He grinned and nodded.

Chapter 6

Breena ran all the way to the gates, through the community, and straight into her house. "Mom!! I got locked out of the gates last night I was so scared!! I saw night catchers and ran back to the gate way and cried there. I was hoping they wouldn't come near me but they did and they kidnapped me and and and-"

"BREENA! Knock it off with your tell tales. Laila even said you came in right after her when everyone was asleep."

Breena stared at Laila in disgust. She mouthed to Laila 'I'm going to kill you. Great job at lying!!' Laila stuck her tongue out and said, "Hey Breena, we should go out and collect apples again." Breena mouth again, "I will kill you." And once again Breena missed the warning horns and was locked out of the gates.
