"Look at her, she's so fat!" I heard the...not so quiet, whispers of a girl in my grade. Along with her were two boys and two other girls, pointing at my ass. I told myself not to turn around, but I had to if I wanted a water. They started to make 'moo-ing' noises, directed at me. I bit my tongue, left the small thing of chips on a ledge along with my water, and left to go to a teacher's room. It was the last day of school, and they still couldn't cut me any slack.
I wasn't telling on anyone, I usually stayed in a teacher's room by myself. On my way there, I passed an old friend. I wanted to smile, but I was still upset about what had happened in the lunchroom. I ignored her, and continued on as if she wasn't there. I felt like I was going to burst into tears any moment now. I turned the corner, ran into the bathroom, and let my breakfast come up. I sat down, jumped up, and went to wash my face off.
The cold water rushed into my mouth from the drinking fountain. I swished, and then swallowed the bitter-tasting water. I shuddered, not liking the stale taste left in my mouth. I made my way to the teacher's room, it was quiet and dark, perfect sleeping conditions. I rested my head on the desk, and started to fall asleep. Just my luck, my 'friend' Haley walked in, smacking me with a thing of Zebra Cakes.
"You need food!" She said, shoving a thing of fries in my face. Lauren, another one of my friends, followed in after. She wasn't one to force me to eat, but she constantly worried about me. I pushed the fries away, and buried my head in my arms.
"Why aren't you with Jamie," I asked bitterly. "You'd rather be hanging with her than me, right?" Haley just sighed, and didn't respond. Deep down, I know she appreciated Jamie's company more than mine. Sorry I wasn't loud and annoying Haley, I can't please anyone. My stomach did a big flip, and finally settled down. The rest of the lunch was spent listening to Haley talk, while Lauren just sat there quietly, letting Haley go on and on.
I was called down to the office, only to see Lauren. She gave me a good-bye present, the other part of it, and I hugged her. She was the best friend I ever had, and she was leaving. She was like my hero, the only one I felt I could be myself around. We talked, I helped her run her gifts to teachers, and then we hugged one last time. I then ran for my bus, which left earlier than others.
After a long spat with another former friend, my Sophmore buddy handed me a cake pop made specially for me. It was in the character of a Drifloon, my favorite Pokemon. I thanked her, and gave her what I promised, my famous Pumpkin Patch cookies. I'm really only supposed to make them around Halloween and fall, but I could inch by the rules just this once.
I was about to dig into the thoughtful treat, when behind me came more 'moo-ing' sounds. The boy, the leader of the group, was on the bus with some of his highschool girlfriends. They all made 'moo-ing' noises at me, and I couldn't enjoy the treat in piece. I wasn't a cow, was I? Was I really some fat abomination that didn't belong? I didn't know, I didn't know anything anymore.
