Long Way to Meet You

Chapter 7

It's only when he arrives in front of Joohyun's door that something comes up to his mind. He knows that voice and there is no way he could be wrong but why would she be here. He puts the thought aside and hurries himself to Joohyun's room.

And there she is, the girl he has been thinking about is sitting beside Joohyun. She is stroking Joohyun's back and he notices worries on her face.

Yoongi calms down himself and fights back the urge to pull her into his embrace as he knows that it's not the right time yet. So instead he approaches Joohyun and puts one of her arm around his shoulder.

"Can you help with the other side," he says.

Seulgi immediately grabs Joohyun's other arm but she has not noticed Yoongi since he is wearing his glasses for work and his messy front hair is covering almost half of his face.

They go out of the house and reach for Yoongi's car and as he helps Joohyun get into the back seat, without saying anything Seulgi gets in from the other side and lets Joohyun's head rests against her shoulder. After that Yoongi gets into the driver seat and they hurry to the hospital.

Thankfully it doesn't take long as the nearest hospital is only 5 minutes ride from their house and once they arrive Seulgi gets out of the car first and helps Joohyun to get out and Yoongi lets Joohyun lean on him for support as they go inside.

They take Joohyun to the emergency room where she is immediately tended by one of the OB specialists. Yoongi and Seulgi go to the waiting room without any saying anything towards each other and they just stay like that for a while until Seulgi lets out a sigh.

Yoongi turns his head towards her and he is wondering if Seulgi has noticed him or she just doesn't care and he doesn't know what to do.

He keeps on staring at her face and he can't hold himself as he takes her hand and squeezes it, wanting to let her know that she's not alone and hoping that it will help her to calm down.

"Don't worry, she'll be okay," he says softly.

But Seulgi's mind is full with Joohyun and her baby and she is starting to wonder if there was something wrong with their dinner yesterday. So when she feels a hand on hers, she is startled and by reflect turned her ead to see whose it is.

"He still has the same eyes," is what comes into her mind first. People might say that his stare is cold and lifeless, but people who love him know better especially for her, his eyes always emanated warmth and they have the power to calm her nerves.

As memories of when they first met comes into her mind, she could not hold back her emotion and finally breaks down in tears.

"Don't worry, you'll be fine," he said, his hand grabbing hers and squeezed it hard before letting it go.

"Other people might use popular songs, but only you danced the real meaning of your song," he continued. He smiled and Seulgi never thought there would be a smile as pretty as his. His eyes followed his smile and his gum was full on display and she thought he was so cute.

"But that's the point, the judges might give more score to songs that they're more familiar with," Seulgi said and he scrunched up his nose.

"Are you underestimating the judges?" he asked with a mischievous eyes.

"No, I didn't mean that. It's just..."

"Trust me, you'll be fine."

And then they could hear her number being called so he pushed her back and wished her luck.

Yoongi reaches into his back pocket to grab his handerkchief and uses it to wipe her tears.

"Why are you crying? Joohyun is not even out yet," he says and Seulgi just stares back at him as she wonders how he doesn't change at all, still the same old savage Yoongi.

She spends some times to observe his appearance which also doesn't change much except for his hair which is back to black now. She remembers a long way back when she dyed her hair bright orange and the next day he dyed his bright pink to make her less stood out.

"Yoongi-ah.." she calls his name with a small voice and he smiles.

"I..."

At that time Joohyun comes out of the room with her doctor following behind

"Are you her guardians?" he asks and Yoongi immediately stand up.

"Yes. Is she okay?" he says.

"Yeah, she should be fine. She seems to be fatigued, please make sure she has enough rest," he says before going back to his room.

Joohyun smiles at them before she sits down beside Seulgi and Seulgi immediately lets go of Yoongi's hand to pull Joohyun in for a hug. Only now she could finally feel relieved.

"Thanks Seulgi-ah, I'm okay now. I can't imagine what would I do without you," Joohyun says while patting on Seulgi's back trying to comfort her.

"And please stop crying, geez," she continues as she wipes the tears from Seulgi's face.

"Thank you Yoongi-ah and sorry for dragging you out," she turns towards Yoongi.

"No problem Joohyun-ah, besides you know Tae will kill me if something happens to you," he says.

"Tae? Don't tell me your husband is that Kim Taehyung?" Seulgi asks in surprise which also startles Joohyun.

"Yes and I guess you know him and Yoongi here?" Joohyun asks. Her eyes are staring at both of them alternately while Yoongi and Seulgi just stare at each other for a moment.

"Yeah, we knew each other from college," Seulgi answers.

"Another friend from college huh, I guess world really is small," Joohyun says with a smile.

"All right, save all the talkings for later and shall we go home? I'm starting to get hungry," she continues and raises from her seat and leaves the waiting room.

Seulgi waits until Joohyun is far enough before she turns towards Yoongi.

"So... it's nice to see you again?" she says.

"Yeah, it's really nice to see you again. Seulgi-ah, listen..."

"We should hurry, Joohyun is waiting for us," Seulgi cuts him off which makes Yoongi taken aback but he decides to just follow her to leave the waiting room.

"I hope we can be comfortable around each other. Let's forget what happened in the past, okay?" she continues as they walk.

Yoongi is silent for a while before he answers. "Yeah, let's do that."

So many words waiting to be let out, but he knows it's not the right time and he could just hope the right chance would come.
