Sam was tired. He had been walking around the demolished city for what felt like a few hours. He had no way of telling time except for the sun, which was now hidden behind large skyscrapers. Sam had run into a few more of those creatures as he traveled but he kept his distance and stayed hidden. Every once in a while a feral cry erupted in the distance but other than that the city was dead quiet. The silence unnerved Sam and put him on high alert. He was starting to feel himself slip away, he didn't know where he was or why he was here, he didn't even know who he was. He needed to find some food, water and shelter soon if he intended on surviving long enough to find the answers to those questions and he knew this. He decided to double back a few blocks and go to a small motel he saw along the way. When he got there he was quickly checked for any hostile's but found none. When he finally felt safe he propped open one of the rooms to find an unusual scene. The room seems as though whoever was here before just disappeared, the clothes are folded and placed neatly in the corner and a hair dryer lies on the table still plugged in. Sam goes through the clothes and luggage looking for something useful but finds nothing. He slides a chair under the door handle to deter any visitors in the night then he crashes onto the bed. Sleep came over him seconds later.
