It Was Mostly Arthur's Fault

Alfred could have screamed at Arthur but it was also his fault that there was something hunting the two of them. The other nations were safe, hidden away as Alfred and Arthur were running through a small town in the UK. Arthur didn't say it's name and Alfred didn't ask. Some of the goons were sure to spot them running down this old street. Arthur turned down a drive and knocked on a door of a very rundown home. Alfred saw the man that opened the door and had to fight the urge to gape at Severus Snape, the youngest Potion Master outside of Magical America. Arthur asked if they could use the floo and a wand was at his throat. Alfred sighed.
"Mr. Snape, we are with the International Magical and Non Magical Intelligence Cooperation." Alfred showed the wizard his FBI/CIA badge and wished for the best. "My partner and I were compromised a day ago and have not been able to loose our pursuers. If you would be kind enough to allow us to use your floo, I am sure that Agent Kirkland will be able to give you substantial compensation." Alfred mentally sighed in relief as the man ushered them in but then cursed as he saw all the people sitting by the fire place. It appeared as if they had interrupted some meeting. He recognized the people as the staff of Hogwarts and noticed how Arthur barely managed to not pass out. Pounding on the door had the two of them literally seemingly melting into the shadows, guns drawn. Severus rose an eyebrow before answering the door. He seemed to have a long conversation with the person outside.
"I'm sorry but I have not seen anyone come down the road, let alone enter my home unless I expected them. I do hope you find whomever you are searching for. Good night." Severus slammed the door closed before turning to look at the two men putting their guns in holsters. He noticed that the guns were not normal, which caused him some worry.
"You bloody wanker! I told you to avoid the bastard at the airport but being the pigheaded git that you were, you just had to interfere! I can't believe you, Alfred!" The man with very bushy eyebrows, Kirkland if memory serves correctly, yelled at the American, now known as Alfred. It was obvious that the two had forgotten they had company.
"If I didn't interfere, we would have died and so would a lot of innocent civilians! That bomb was planted there to take you out! Someone leaked out information about you and your position. Did you really think that I would just sit back and let you fucking die?! I get that I'm not considered or welcomed as family anymore, Arthur, but I wasn't going to let you get hurt because of my inaction! Never again." Alfred was very passionate until he whispered the last part, turning his face to the ground. Arthur stiffened for a moment before looking crestfallen.
"The past is the past. It wasn't your fault and I never blamed you for that. You are part of the family, you bloody idiot. You always have been." All the anger that had been displayed was gone. Arthur sighed at the lack of response before looking to Snape. "May we use the floo? I need to get this git back to his embassy soon or there may be a war."
Dumbledore coughed lightly from his chair. The two males ignored him. Severus mentally sighed.
"Tea first." He left no room for argument and watched as the American silently and wandlessly transfigured a button into a two person chair. Arthur rolled his eyes but sat on one side. The other professors were in shock also.
"I didn't know that there were magical secret agencies. I didn't even know that Americans had a Magical government!" Madame Sprout started asking questions after exclamation. Alfred laughed and answered every question in a way that seemed to be the honest truth but Severus noticed that the answers were too vague. Arthur was pulled into a conversation about potions and alchemy by Severus.
"Alfred is brilliant with alchemy, potions, history, charms, and about everything else. He taught at Ilvermorny for two years before taking on this job." Arthur told Severus Snape and Albus Dumbledore with a bit of pride. He also told Albus that he, Arthur, was exceptional at Magical History and Care of Magical Creatures. Suddenly the two males passed out, startling the whole group.
Blood dripped from the American's side, had been for the past hour at least. The other male seemed to have taken a bullet to the shoulder. They were taken to Hogwarts infirmary and treated. Alfred had twenty bullet wounds and was unconscious for three days. During the three days, Arthur was treated and somehow talked into taking the Magical History teacher slot. Alfred's teaching credentials arrived alongside a contract that stated that he was to teach Muggle History and any other subject. It was signed by the Council of Roanoke. Arthur and Alfred had a shouting match when Alfred woke up, it was heard all the way to the Great Hall. The two had to put the hat on as it had been many centuries since they had attended Hogwarts. Arthur, 32, was Gryffindor and Alfred, 15, was Slytherin.
Severus sighed as he knew that Alfred would have to do the same ward test as all the other Slytherin students and staff had to.
