Kirito+Sinon (Incomplete)

Chapter 21

Kirito- 

The girl I'd fallen for and risked my life for. She stood within our cottage looking the same as ever as I'd known her for. I'd protect and fight alongside with her over and over again, as long as she is safe...

As if breaking out of a trance, I jerked once then stilled. Wha—? I, huh?  I couldn't move. There weren't any anomalies in my status bar but I couldn't move an inch. Even my sight range remained the same, as I tried to move my gaze to where Sinon was. 

"Kirito!" A voice called me, one that I was too familiar with. Asuna. 

Asuna—! I called out, my voice echoing inside my head. I struggled against the invisible force that was controlling me, hand reaching for her, but only resulting in a twitch of my hand. I've been longing her voice, the soft trill that had stayed with me during my time in Aincrad. The gentle hum that gave me the strength to pick up my sword and strengthen my resolve. 

I continued struggling in vain. Huh? Wait... No! My senses began drifting further away from me, like I was floating away from my body. I struggled further as desperation began to overcome me. 

I couldn't move. 

Asuna- 

--Moments ago--

Hmm~ This is totally different than what I'd expected our reunion to be like. It's been quite some time since we've met after all. Tsk. She's a nuisance. 

I feigned a fake gasp at the duo who'd fallen at the entrance, all tangled up and flustered. No, this won't work out at all. I need to draw Kirito away from her. 

My gaze locked onto the blushing Cait Sith, eyes narrowed with distaste. Maybe, just maybe, it wouldn't hurt to alter their player system, would it? Only for a short while. My name isn't even on the NPC registry, and I have the system access equivalent to Yui's. It'll probably pass off as a small bug in the game. Surely, no one would notice. A corner of my lips lifted, too faint to be noticed. "Kirito!" I called out. 

Quickly sifting through the online players' list in the current server, I located both Kirito and Sinon's ID. A smile began forming around my features as I entered a system command into the access panel.

"Time to put trash in the trash bin, where they belong..." I murmured, a gleeful smile slowly spreading across my features. 

It'll take some time till the system's settings to update. I guess I'll buy some time~ I can't wait to see the look on her face. 

Sinon-

My arrow tip was focused on the Undine in front of me, a penetrating skill ready to be fired. However before my fingers could let go of the bow string, a long sword slashed my arm as a flash of black crossed my vision. The bow was knocked out of my hands, the skill cancelled as my HP fell further. 

"Wha-?" My eyes widened as I began to realize who'd struck me. I fell, kneeling on the ground as I gasped for breath. Pain wasn't what caused me to fall. The pain sensors were set low in VRMMOs thus I didn't feel much pain. My vision was spinning as I struggled to take in what'd happened. The in-game sounds around me that seemed to echo far away; my heartbeat pounding within my eardrums as I struggled to stay upright.

Asuna struck once more, and I fell further away from the rest. All my limbs seemed so weak, detached from my body as if I couldn't control them. My HP was now in the red zone, but I was immobilized... No, I simply couldn't move. There was nothing wrong with my status bar. The thumps of my heartbeat now spread towards my head and began throbbing. 

'Huh? What happened? Why can't I move? Who, no... why? Why did he attack me? At this rate, I'll be killed. I can always resurrect, but what really worries me is the state I'm in after Kirito struck me. This has never happened before... What has she done?'   

My consciousness was drifting away from me and a red banner began to blink: <THE CONNECTION IS WEAK. PREPARING TO LOG OUT IN 10...9...8...>  'No! Stay awake! Stop!'

"H..." "Hey.." "Hey!" "Sinon!!" I was lurched out of my trance and found myself in front of Lizbeth, who currently was shaking me. The warning disappeared, and my surroundings became clear once again. The others were surrounding me, with varied forms of worry shown across their features.

"Thank gods, I thought something happened to your system. Jeez, don't try to scare us next time like that, okay?" She shot a grin at me, though that quickly disappeared. Lizbeth used several healing potions to return my HP back to normal while the others turned towards the duo who was standing across the field. 

It's back... to normal? I can move. What happened? What did Asuna do? Why did Kirito attack me?
