Chapter One : Re-wind

"Stop." The voice boomed, echoing the whole room. Footsteps could be heard. Soon a silhouette could be seen walking out from the darkness and into the light. Despite the dimed lights, I mean sure it can't shine much to actually identify the person but just the features, it is enough. I will never ever forget him.

Him? Yes him. The one that brought me up to this world, one that taught me fear before love and much more but you guys will start pitying me, which sadly I don't need. Never had never will need such pity and being looked down upon.

"Sweetheart..." he spoke, "You do know why this is needed right?" He raised his voice slightly at the end with a glint in his eyes. I chuckled in my mind while looking to my now chained wrist to the wall then running my tongue to my lips faintly tasting a tint of blood. Ofcourse I know why this is needed and I know that I have no right to complain since afterall, I'm the one that decide or should I say chose this for the exchange. It's worth it, his happiness for mine. Even if it was to happen again I will make the same decision.

"Yes" My voice croaked. "It's for my training" I speak as my throat burned, demanding water to soothe itself but sadly it won't happen. Claps echoed the room, " Oh how am I glad that you understand and you better be thankful!" He smiled brightly but to me it looks like a sadistic one and thankful? Who is he kidding.

"Thank you, Father." I said in a monotone voice while keeping my eyes down on the pool of blood that has formed on the floor without my knowing. It's amazing how I never notice how dark and mystical it looks.

"Continue" that's all that he needed to say for my torture to continue. The cracking sound of the whip soon is heard... The whip made it's contact with my skin at a random pace. It's amazing how it never snapped I thought to myself. Ah the pain, I can no longer feel it. Numbness is all that fills me now. Thinking back to how it all started... Yes, It goes a long long way back...

-Flashback-

"Lila! Hayden! Lets run!" Luis shouted. In the background I can faintly heard the shopkeeper shouting profanities, we laughed and ran till we're sure he is no longer chasing. I must say he is one persistent guy but no one knows the area better than us the three musketeers. "Ah! Finally! Did you see his face? It's priceless!" I laughed. "We should stop doing it though... Who knows when it might get us into serious trouble." Hayden said strongly.

Me and Luis stared at him for a while before nodding our head looking bummed. Hayden is always the voice of reason, but he will still follow me and Luis on our rampaged just now putting superglue on the lock of the convenient store when we saw that guy locking it.

He disagrees to our actions but fear for our safety so he always tags along, I guess it's because he's older than us by a year, which make him take up the brotherly role. Hayden, or his full name "Hayden Asher Alexandre"

comes from an affluent family as his family is a big corporate investing on technology and security. What I love about him is... Yes you heard that right. I love him ever since I've known him when I was nine, which is 3 years back. Which makes him 13, me, 12 and Luis,12 now.

Yes back to what I was saying, I love him. He hates to rely on his family's influence to get where he wants to in life. His family always have high expectations of him ever since I've known him but he always finds them a challenge and always overcomes them. Always the trustable one out of our group of three.
