Facing Her

I quickly got dressed and headed out of the locker room. Tara was out to and by the looks of it trying to shake off her sister who just wouldn't let her go. Her cold glare was hard to believe when i knew the girl she used to be couldn't pull one off one to save her life. "Leave me alone Katy, i don't feel like playing protector today" she said coldly and that's when i realized they had switched positions. Tara could ruin Katy if she wanted to just like Katy did her but she didn't she might be cold but she'd never put someone else in the position she was in before. Even a girl who was ruined knew what hurting someone's self esteem can do to them. "Please just don't go back in your shell not now" Katy whined. Tara ripped her arm away from Katy "i never came out of my shell so fuck off Katy, i could ruin you so quickly, stay away from me. I'm tired of trying to help the likes of you" Tara said her eyes flashed behind Katy and to me. Hurt flashed across them "couldn't you just stayed gone, everything was going right and you come in here and have the disrespect to mouth my friends. That girl who sat there and took your shit before isn't here anymore. I won't think twice of getting rid of you if i need to do so, so stay out of my way" she said completely emotionless. Someone came out the locker room. I noticed it was the popular boy who laid her in his lap before during class. He grabbed her hand and pulled her with him inside the gym. I don't know how but i felt jealous how someone i would mark as popular could touch her when i couldn't.

I walked into the lunch room and went to find Ivan and his friends since they invited me to have lunch with them They sat with maybe not the nerds but not the most popular and i was okay with that i didn't want to be on the top anymore, it lead to hurting those you love. As i sat down the doors opened and everyone got quiet so i turned to find out who it was that could silence an entire cafeteria. I shouldn't have been surprised to see Tara standing there with headphones in her ear leading to what i knew was a phone but the teachers that looked at her loooked at her like they would a nerd, like she would nevr do wrong but i had been told many of the people she ruined along the way to popularity. Every guy looked at her with want as she passed and the girls glared at her and she returned them full on like she was used to this. She got her food and turned around to let her eyes sweep across all the tables and people beckoning her to thier table but she just went and sat with nerds, and i mean nerds as in the ones that get shoved in lockers and forced to do populars homework. One of the boys who obviously adored her got up from his table and walked up behind her and pinched her sides. Her face was priceless as the smile slipped on her face and the laughing starated. She slapped his hands away from her and he sighed as he sat beside her at the nerds table. This was unusaul for me to see because this boy was wearing a quarterback jersy but he would laugh around with the nerds like he was one of them. She was bringing the ranks together in this school. She was doing the impossible.

I got home from school. My car was a nice black bently but these dirt roads were doing serious problems to my paint job. I walked inside to find a sight i never thought i'd see agian since i left here.

"Tara honey Drew has something he needs to tell you" my mother said to a llittle girl across from me. She was my best friend in the whole world and i hated having to tell her i was leaving. My mom got up and walked out of the room after kissing her cheek and my dad followed kissing her forhead. I stood up and looked at a worried Tara. "Mommy says were moving tommorow and i don't wanna be friends anymore" i said as her face fell and tears sprung to her eyes but before i could say anything her short self got up and left and just liike that our time was up and lost my best friend.

She was on the counter talking to my brother who was a few years younger than me. My mom was looking at a dish on the counter and cutting peices off "are you sure you don't want any Tara you made it you should have some to" my mom said trying to convince her but she just smiled and laughed "na i think i'm good" she said amused. Tyler smiled at her and nodded towards me at the entrance of the room and her smile imediatly dropped. She was wearing a pair of shorts and a black t-shirt and of course she was barefoot and didn't have a drop of make up on at all. She dropped down from the counter and hugged my brother and then my mom "I'm headed home Mrs M, i gotta keep up my A average grades or ma will flip" she said as she walked past me and out the door with only a nod to me as she glared at me with cold eyes. When he front door closed Tyler broke down laughing "Dude what ever you did you might wanna fix it because that girl has danger written all over her now and i'd hate to be on her bad side" he said and mom joined in "I think shes got it out for you Drew" she said happily and i looked at her affended. "My own mother not caring if the demons got me" i said dramatically. My brother frowned "thats no demon, you just pissed an angle off is all big bro" he said and i laughed along with my mom.
