Long long ago, there was a breed called the unicorn. At this time, the narwhals were also creatures of the land. The narwhal and horse colonies were very close and often a narwhal and horse would fall in love and have a baby. These offspring of narwhals and horses were called unicorns. They looked like horses except for a horn protruding from their foreheads. The unicorn breed was prosperous, even though it depended on the narwhals and horses. You see, like many cross breeds, like mules or the liger, the unicorns could not breed with each other. But for now this was okay, because the narwhals relationships with the horses were strong. The unicorns would leave there parents once they were a year old. They would go to there own meadow, where hundreds of them lived at a time. Then one day all of this happiness changed in just a matter of moments.
