"Uhmmmm....... Hi?"

"...."

"Jeez, are you deaf or something? I said hi."

He stood right in front of me, arms crossed while glaring at me for responding. Still, I didn't respond. "Hell-o~~?" the man said again.

"Uhmm..."

"So you can speak!"

"Who are you?"

The man had just appeared in front of me suddenly. One second I was absorbed in my violin-playing and the next second? Poof. There he was.

"Me? I'm Steve."

"Well..... Hello, Steve. I'm Asami."

"I know."

"How --- How do you know? And how did you get here? What's going on?" My muteness was forgotten as I began to attack Steve with a barrage of questions.

"Isn't it obvious?" Steve smirked. "I'm a time traveler. I've come from the future."

"Oh. But how do you know me?"

"Well...." Steve began. He reached into his jacket and began drawing something out. Suddenly preoccupied with this task, Steve grew silent.

"Steve?"

In Steve's hands was a long, shiny, serrated knife.

"Steve, what's going on?"

Steve gave me a smile. "I've come to murder someone."

I gasped. "Murder? Murder? But why?"

"They will start the apocalypse. And there's no hope for humanity when that happens. Unless... Unless...  they die before they can start the apocalypse."

"Still!" I exclaimed, brandishing my violin bow at Steve. "There's no acceptable excuse to murder anyone!"

"If I recall correctly, the year is 2018, right?"

"Yes, but ---"

"Zip! There are approximately seven billion people on this planet right now. Seven. Billion. And it's a crime if I murder one?"

"But ---"

"Seven. Billion. People."

"Fine!" Exasperated, I threw my hands up. "Fine. But who ARE you going to murder?"

"Asami, you should know who."

"Should I? Should I really?" Confused and exasperated at this point, I began to leave, but Steve grabbed me by the arm.

Steve smiled sweetly at me before plunging the knife into my heart. "Please don't hate me for this. But its the only way to save humanity."
