It hurt Uraraka to see Asui like this. Asui was probably one of the strongest, most level headed people she knew. That's why seeing her so distraught over something like this felt so terrible. It wasn't normal.

“Tell them I'm not feeling well..”

“Tsu come on..everyone just got back. I think it would be good to join in..” Uraraka tried. The classmates who rescued Bakugou were returning to the dormitories. This would be the first time the the rest of the class would see them since Kirishima originally suggested rescuing Bakugou. She felt it would be nice to give them a nice welcome back.

“No. I can't go and act as if everything is fine when it's not.” Asui mumbled, loud enough for Uraraka to hear, but clearly not meant for the ears of everyone else.

“Tsu..”

“Ochako..please..” Asui pleaded. Uraraka could see tears swelling up near her eyes, like a glass started to overflow. Uraraka could feel herself tearing up too. Asui's eyes were like the sea. Today, they were calm, but sad. Uraraka hated it, but at this moment, it was best to leave Asui alone for a bit. Uraraka wiped her eyes with the back of her hand and wandered towards the common room.

The entire time, Asui was on the back of her mind. Uraraka was confused. Asui was resilient. She was a fighter. What could be tearing her up inside so bad as to where she’d avoid the rest of the class. And why did that hurt Uraraka so much? What was it about this that made Uraraka’s heart rip?

When Uraraka was asked where Asui was, she simply said she wasn't feeling well. It was hard to focus on anything after that.

Uraraka raced back to the dorms. How fast was she going? She didn't know. All she could think about was Asui’s face, swelling with tears, pained and broken. Nothing else mattered right now. In this moment, her friend was in need. That's all. Asui was all that mattered.

Uraraka knocked on the door, preparing herself to comfort her best friend, at the same time trying to figure out why Asui’s crying face hurt so bad. Soon the door creaked open.

“Ochako..” Asui whimpered. Her voice was shaking, a little bit higher pitched and unsteady. This wasn't ok.

“I'm coming in.” Asui gave no resistance, letting Uraraka into her room. She flicked on the light switch.

With that, Uraraka got a clear look at her face. Her cheeks had lines running down them that indicated tears and her eyes were pink and blotchy. The worst part though, was the expression that she wore. Her mouth was curved upward into a smile that could not convince a fool, and her eyes seemed to turn into a calm, but sad sea. Uraraka hated it. She wanted to wipe off that expression and say ‘ You're ok. Nothing is wrong. ‘ but things weren't that simple.

“Tsu, whats wrong? You've never..I’ve never seen you like this before..” Uraraka started, “Please… Tell me what's upsetting you.”

“If you're planning on violating the rules just like that,” Asui took a second to suppress her sobs, “Isn't that kind of behavior no different than a villain?” Asui's voice shook on the last part. “That's what I said to them. How can I go down there and be all having fun after I said all of that? I can't face them. Ochako..”

Asui broke. She started to sob uncontrollably. Uraraka reached out to hug her, and in response, Asui simply started sobbing more. Uraraka was never the best at this sort of thing, but that didn't matter right now. She cared for Asui. Right now, she was everything.

“Tsu...You know, everyone felt uneasy, unsure. We all wanted to wipe it all away, right? You didn't know what to say in that moment, right? You always say what's on your mind Tsu. That's what is admirable about you. You're always a voice of reason. You always seem to care for our classmates and friends and-” Uraraka stopped. She could list off everything the made Asui great. What made her so amazing. Her face heated. That's why it hurt. To her, Asui was more than a friend. Uraraka realized that now. “You're my greatest friend, you know that?

“Ochako..thank you..I-” Asui didn't have time to finish. Who knows how long it lasted. It could've been a peck on the lips. It could've lasted a full ten minutes. All Uraraka knows is that it was a magical moment, and that Asui didn't pull back or push Uraraka away.

Both girls turned away from each other. Uraraka's face was beet red and she could assume Asui was the same.

“Tsu, I care about you. Make sure you always know that.” Uraraka managed to say. The words got easier as they were spoken, though the magic of the kiss still lingered. “Want to go down there and set things straight?”

“Yeah. Thank you Ochako..I-I do too.” Asui mumbled. “But maybe not yet. I don't want to be seen like this..”

“Okay. However much time you need.” Uraraka pecked her on the cheek, smiling when Asui's face reddened. Love? Yeah that's it. Uraraka loved Asui.

The exchange went well, at least, Uraraka thought it did. Asui gathered the rescue squad and explained herself, the negative feelings and how she wanted to wipe them away. How she wanted everything to go back to normal. Asui couldn't hold in her tears, but it was ok. Everyone else joined in.

Uraraka smiled happily, letting a few happy tears scurry down her cheek. No one was immune to tears. Even Todoroki shed a few, to Uraraka's surprise. That night, tears fell like rain.
