Hey douchebag. What are you doing still in bed? It's time to wake up, D.
Opening his eyes to the sight of those four white walls again while her words still echoed in his head like already distant memories was almost as bad as the physical pain that hit when he remembered what had happened. He moaned, his overlaid vision doing nothing to block the bloody tide of events that flooded his brain with images of gore and pain. And Fina. That stupid, beautiful girl, smiling like she had some way to solve the whole situation even as she lay dead. He dimly recognized that he was still in his combat form- he smelled the blood under his claws and splashed across his muzzle, but felt no need to put forth the effort to change back. The only one who had ever given him a real reason to be human again was gone.
A sharp siren blast sounded, followed by the mechanical whir of a door opening and a set of four of five footsteps approaching him. He stared dully at the floor as the soldiers began to prod him- hesitantly at first, but with more agitated force when he didn't so much as twitch. When one of them started to get aggressive with their shock prod he hissed a warning as his tails curled upwards, but he let them fall when he realized he had no reason to use them. He had just killed dozens of their comrades, and they still had to run in here and try to wake the beast without dying. He had no reason to kill them. He had no reason to do anything. Apparently they had called someone else after getting confirmation he was alive, because the siren sounded again and a different pair of footsteps approached. D rolled his head just enough to get a view, but still wasn't that surprised to see that it was Dr. Englemeyer. Despite him having his arm ripped off, he looked remarkably healthy. And he had a new arm. Prosthetic or a result of his research, D didn't care.Judging by the doctor's cautious approach, he had learned his lesson. He did nothing more than stare, but finally his deranged instincts drove him closer. D let him come. He had already taken the thing most important to him. Nothing the doctor did now could compare to that pain, or the shame he faced in allowing the beast to run wild and kill all those soldiers. The doctor's sharp gaze met his own dull one, and the doctor smirked, finally walking close enough to touch, and reached out to pet D's head lovingly. "It's good to see you're awake," he crooned, "because now, the testing can begin."
