. . .

For the past two hundred years, no wolf has ever been seen in Alpha Springs . From a town that contained the most beautiful and most vicious and unique wolves to a place with no breathing wolves on its ground led to many mysterious changes in Alpha Springs. Citizens were safe. You are too . . . OR ARE YOU ?

Chapter One

"I promise you Jason, if you do not come down and eat your breakfast i will never ever talk to you again and you allowance will be cut 50 per cent each second you procrastinate!" Jason's mom Lydia said.

"I'm coming mom, jeez, take it easy. The last thing I'd want is to rush you to hospital looking like a piece of raw steak on a barbeque." Jason chuckled walking down the wooden stairs in blue lady slippers and a red Irish gown.

"Shut up Jason," his mother said, "you still haven't left my slippers back in my shoe closet and I'm surprised to see you actually making use of that gown Uncle Peter gave you last Christmas."

Jason smiled. He jumped down the last three stairs, showing off some pre school gymnastics and grabbed his mothers warm hands placing it on his cheek.

"Jason! Good heavens why are you so hot ?" His mother asked in a very concerned and worried tone

"Hey, when you're blessed with it, you're blessed with it. Aint that right momma'?" Jason said sarcastically.

"Jason! You even hotter than the bottom of my laptop on the days i work twelve hours at the station but you still lacking a hell of a lot of stuff like . . . Arm and muscle and steady calves "

"Mother, sometimes it's better to just remain silent." Jason said chewwing aggressively on a slice of french toast

His mother laughed. She was a very open and kind hearted person. Jason always obeyed her and did his best to please her whenever he could.

"Speaking of which. . . You are going to have to pick up your little brother from your grandma today and make supper. I'm working late again and i won't be able to manage. Jason I'm trusting you to be responsible and keep it in mind that after school you have to pick Danny up. Got it ?" His mother said.

"The house has been wonderful the past three days without a younger brother," Jason said with a sigh, "Can't we leave him by Grandma just for another day?"

His mother looked at him with a blank unreadable expression

"3pm, and if Danny is not home I'm calling the cops to have to arrested for failing to act up to the responsibility of a sixteen year old brother." She said

"You are a cop," Jason said taking a loud sip of coffee, "Why don't you just arrest me yourself ?"

"I love you Jason. Keep the house tidy till tonight and don't forget about Danny. Oh and, try your best to prevent the school phoning me to pick you up for suspensions today. Be a good boy " Lydia grabbed her car keys and left.

Jason went back upstairs and began to get dressed. He wore a demin jeans, grey all star takkies, a maroon sweat shirt and a white fleece beanie. His sense of fashion could rather be a bit . . . Awkward at times.

Jason went into the garage and got his bicycle out.

"Helmet?" He said looking at the metalic green helmet sitting on his mothers old family car which was never used since he turned seven.

He stroked the helmet in a way a teenaged girl would stroke a cuddle teddy or a kitten and then placed it back on the boot of the car.

"Big boys don't need helmets" he said sitting on his bike and driving off

Jason loved the fresh air. He loved the way his school was situated far from his house giving him the opportunity of riding past the forest and cemetery everyday. No matter how many times his History teacher Mrs Scoffwood told him about the myths of the ancient forest and cemetery, it still didn't bring a chill of fear in Jason's spine. He loved thrill and adventure.

"Woah!"

*THUD!* *BANG!* *CLASH!*

One minute driving so smoothly and the next. . . Just out of the blue an animal ran in his direction. He swerved his bike into the forest just in time. Jason lay there under his bike in shock and pain. "Guhh" he managed to say as he pushed his bike off his body. He turned laying on his belly. His eyes caught something mysterious. There was a sudden smoke from the forest. The figure of the animal that nearly bumped him over a few seconds ago disappeared behind the mysterious smoke. "Woah!" Jason said as he slowly got back onto his feet. He clenched his fists and took a step into the forest. Jason felt a gush of pain shoot up his leg. "Ahh!" He said grabbing his knee and falling down on his rear. He closed his eyes and thought... What was that? He thought. A dog? A wild cat?

Jason got to his feet again and slowly moved towards his bike. He tried to ignore the smoke and just hurry to school as he was supposed to do, but his eyes kept turning toward the suspicious smoke.

*CRUNCH!*

He heard the sound of footsteps walking over the dried autumn leaves. Jason gripped his bike firmly. His eyes widened as he saw a figure move closer into the dim sunlight.

He saw a pair of bright red eyes staring right back at him. He wasn't sure if he saw the sharpest canines ever of if his mind was playing tricks on him.

Just when he thought he saw the mysterious creature clearly in the sunlight that shone on the forest leaves through the branches of the old forest trees, an eagle soared past him. It screeched as loud as it possibly could and landed in a branch of the tree directly above Jason's head. Out of fear, Jason shut his eyes and fell back on the ground. He felt his heart pound in his chest. Frightened, he began to clench his fists even tighter than the first time. He stood up slowly and looked in the forest again. He rubbed his eyes and took a few steps deeper into the forest. Was this all mind play? The smoke was gone and what stood in place of the creature was now a man. He stared motionless at Jason. His leather jacket appeared polished and shiny in the rays of the sunlight that escaped through the leaves and branches of the forest trees. Jason looked up, the eagle was gone too. He ran to his bike and began to move out of the creepy forest. Jason took one last look in the forest. The man had disappeared aswell. Feeling extremely creeped out, Jason took off on his bike and rode as fast as he could to school
