Chapter 4

"How was your sleep Drew?" tanong ni Lucas sitting in front of me in a very long table, we were having breakfast. I am officially his fiancee and I was required to live in his house.

"It was good, yours?" I said eating scrambled eggs and taking a sip from the coffee, it felt like we are married couples, married couples usually have breakfast together in one home and by just thinking about that, it made me really blush.

"I have the opposite, I had business papers to finish. You know how hard it is to manage all casinos in this city." he said lowering his newspaper and looked at me, he has something to say, I can just tell it by looking at his eyes.

"Drew, you know we still have 2 months before getting married. Do you?" he asked lifting his coffee. I didn't read the proposal in my desk that night. I was tired of crying, it's unnoticeable because I put a little bit of bb cream around the area of my eyes.

"I haven't read it, sorry" I apologized. I lift my eyes to look at him and all I saw was confusion written in his face, did I made him upset?

"You don't have to apologize." he said finishing his meal, he then stood up and walked towards me, I can't help but get confused as I was caught off guard when he leaned in to kiss my forehead. I felt tingles running down my spine as I felt discomfort, I didn't expect him to touch me, we just met. Aside from that, the kiss was full of gentleness and it somehow made me close my eyes, when he stopped, he looked down at me as I was sitting, he then told me "I appointed us dinner at 7:30pm, see you there." I then nodded "Have fun at work." he smiled then walked away.

The moment was awkward, my feelings for him got even more, he was so gentle. I once expected that he would be harsh towards me but I was wrong all along, God gave me a man who I hope to spend my life with. Pero sa una palang yun, you don't know kapag may tinatago tung masama na ugali so I kept myself timid and formal when we talk or spend time.

I finished my meal and head to the mansion's pool, the pool has a waterfall and is big as well, I enjoyed the sound of water splashing this early in the morning after breakfast, it was so relaxing and pleasant to the ears then suddenly, a person's arm touched me and it made me turn towards him, my hair swayed and my forehead grouched. He was very familiar, like I encountered him somewhere, he then started the conversation.

"Oh, I didn't meant to startle you, Ms. G." he said with a smile, I can see that he's in my age. His smile was delightful and charming and that caused me to smile back, I then tugged my hair in my ears to get a full view of his face, the sun's rays are hitting on us and it was warm and cozy.

"Oh, Good morning." I said shyly, I guess this is Xian. The guy that Lucas mentioned whom introduced me to him with a picture at school. After saying that, he was staring at me for quiet a while, it was awkward so I faced the pool instead. His looks somehow is very good looking, a very young man at my age.

"Ah, it really surprised me to hear that kuya will marry you next 2 months, masarap sa pakiramdam at isipan na makasama na niya ang babaeng matagal na niyang hinihintay." That made me face him, it made me confused kung bakit ipinakilala niya ako sa pinsan niya, at walanghiya pang kinunan ako ng stolen shot sa school. What intention does he have to do that? Kaya I gained the urge to ask him, to know the reason why Lucas was investigating me.

"You know Xian, matagal ko nang hinihintay ang pagkataon na masagutan ang tanong kong ito, Lucas told me that you were the one who introduced me to him by a stolen picture in your phone, what made you do that? I'm not angry ha, I'm quietly confused because he was investigating me for so long, at parang wala namang nagstastalk sa akin." I asked informally kay Xian, who I believe is younger than me. He then looked at me, parang may iniisip na malalim but for a short time, he then smiled widely. Para bang retarded o baka mood swings, or yeah maybe, just thinking deep.

"Alam mo namang heartthrob ka sa campus kahit masungit ka Ms. G, I'm glad to say that I was one of your victims. 3 years ago, I showed a pic of you to kuya Lucas, sinabihan ko kasi siyang may bago na akong gustong liligawan kaya ayun, he told me to show a picture of how the girl looks like, I showed him the picture which I'd taken of you nung nagbabasa ka ng libro, probably studying. For one glimpse of you, parang na stunned si kuya, he then told me how you remind him of his ex girlfriend 5 years ago, which died from a car crash after they broke up." After hearing his explanation and the answer for my question parang naisip kong may nakarelasyon na pala si Lucas na sineryoso niya, I knew it, mom did lied to me that time she told me that Lucas haven't been in a serious relationship yet, and I know now, how he loved that girl kaya he really waited for me, just because I look identical like that woman. It made me feel that pang physical na anyo lang pala ang hinahabol sa akin ni Lucas. It's really complicated, Lucas treated me with gentleness and sincerity, I think because kailangang niya akong kumbinsihan para maikasal kami ng maayos.

"They broke up but he still loved her. Don't you think that the main reason he liked me is because I just remind him of his former lover?" I asked desperately, I was left in puzzlement because he laughed at my question, he then stared at me seriously.

"You're 3 times pretty than her, Ms. G. So pretty that you made me fall for you in the first place." That somehow made me blush and look away shyly, I then smiled. He caught me off guard by his charm, how his mouth moved by saying that and how he looked at me made my heart jump, so flirtatious.

"You are completely the opposite of your cousin, I don't think Lucas likes to joke around." I said, recovered from the effect of his charms. I then look at him seriously.

"Do you really think that I'm joking? That is 100% a fact Ms. G." he said cockily, that left me to laugh a bit. He's cockiness somehow made me forget the pain I encountered yesterday, the sadness and sorrow I've been in faded away because of him.

"You know, ang corny mo Xian but thank you." I then smiled at him.

"You're very welcome Ms. G. Uhhmmmm you know what, let's do something fun." He then grabbed my arm and pulled me suddenly, saan kaya ako dadalhin ng lalaking toh? I hope it's somewhere I want to spend the rest of the morning with, laughing with this cocky kid...
