| Chapter One | "Burning Secret" |

Piper's POV:

I woke up from an incredible dream where Jason had taken me on a romantic date to a restaurant.

Although my current reality isn't the same, it's pretty close.

Jason and I had been in L.A for a month and I'd say it's probably been one of the greatest times in my life.

I woke up in a tent with Jason next to me. His arm around me, and the smell of forest that I love.

Dad had only let us sleep in the same tent if we promised to wake up early and go fishing with him to which we agreed to right away.

I pressed my lips against Jason's, and got out of his strong but loving grip.

Slipping on my converse, I walk out of the tent and head towards the forest.

Once I'm out of view, my heart starts beating fast and I run to "The Spot".

Now, "The Spot" refers to many different places that change along with where I go. First it was the secret compartment in my trunk at Camp Half-Blood. Then it was my boot. The time before this, was the hole under the loose board at my dad's house. "The Spot" now resides under a marked tree in the woods.

Once I reach it, I dig quickly, ignoring the mess it'll make of my nails until I come across an object.

My shoulders drop in relief and I pull it out.

Once again, the memory hits me like a wall of bricks.

(The following flashback is from "The Lost Hero" in the part where the three stumble across Medea's department store in the sewer's of Chicago)

(Also, any words in bold are Rick Riordan's words from "The Lost Hero", just italicized are the parts that I added.)

Medea turned triumphantly just in time to get hit in the chest by a fifty-pound metal Frisbee. She stumbled backward, crashing over the counter, breaking vials and knocking down shelves. When the sorceress stood from the wreckage her dress was stained a dozen different colors. Many of the stains were smoldering and glowing.

"Fool!" Medea wailed. "Do you have any idea what so many potions will do when mixed?"

"Kill you?" I said hopefully.

"You've doomed us all!" Medea screamed.

Smoke was rolling across the carpet as the stain spread, throwing sparks and setting fires in the clothing racks. "You have only seconds before this concoction consumes everything and destroys the building. There's no time-"

CRASH! The stained glass ceiling splintered in a rain of multicolored shards and Festus the bronze dragon dropped into the department store.

I managed to roll out of the way before any pieces of glass could impale me. I ended up underneath a table and noticed a few of the potions hadn't broken. I gasped when I noticed one of them was the same exact one that Medea had told us would give Jason his memory back. Without thinking, I stuffed it into my jacket's pocket and crawled from underneath the table.

"That's my boy!" Leo yelled.

Medea cursed in some ancient language. The whole fourth floor was on fire now. The air filled with noxious gas. Even with the roof open, I could feel the heat intensifying. I backed up to the edge of the railing, keeping my dagger pointed towards Medea.

"I will not be abandoned again!" The sorceress knelt and snatched up one of the potions that I had seen survive earlier. "You want your boyfriend's memory restored? Take me with you!" That's when I realized the potions that had splattered on her must have affected her eyesight, because the potion in her hand wasn't the red healing potion, it was a dark purple one that I had no idea what did.

"Not today, witch." I jumped over the side. I plummetted for only a second before Leo and Jason caught me, hauling me aboard the dragon.

I heard Medea screaming in rage as we soared through the broken roof and over downtown Chicago. Then the department store exploded behind us.

As we flew, I could feel the potion getting heavier in my pocket.

As I sat there, staring at the potion in my hand in the woods, I realized how many times I had considered giving it to Jason.

But the what if's endlessly haunted me.

What if he had someone else in his life that felt the same way I did?

What if he wanted to go back to his old life?

What if his memories made him stop loving me?

Then there was the day I almost gave it to him. The day we arrived at Camp Jupiter for the first time. For me atleast.

I was going to give it to him that night.

But then I learned about Reyna.

I saw the way she looked at him.

I wasn't going to lose Jason to her.

So I ended up not giving him the potion. Do I regret it? No. Some would say it's selfish, but I was only looking out for Jason. What if Reyna broke his heart? Or more importantly, what if Jason broke my heart?

I place the potion back in the hole and cover it with dirt. I wipe my hands, that look terrible, and I call for Aphrodite's blessing.

When I open my eyes, my hands look perfect.

Just like Jason and I.

Phew. I hope that wasn't too bad for a first chapter. I'm also really sorry if you weren't expecting / didn't like Piper being the POV since the fanfic isn't exactly supposed to be about her.

This fanfic is going to be carried out, so if you clicked this hoping to get some Leyna action (which I totally understand, that's pretty much what I do all the time) you're going to have to wait, but don't worry. Once I finish this entire fanfiction, I'll add something to the prologue or author's note that tells you where the ACTUAL Leyna happens.

Also, I know this seems like a Jeyna fanfic waiting to happen, let me defend myself.

ONE: I shipped Jeyna before Leyna, so it's kind of for my past self's sake. But this was also for about an hour, until I realized LEO + REYNA = NEVER ENDING HAPPINESS.

TWO: This ship is in my top five OTP's (come on guys, there is no such thing as an OTP, we all have more than one (except maybe TFIOS) ) because Reyna is freaking awesome and out of all the characters, based on looks, I look the most like her, so of course she's one of my favorite HoO characters. Therefore, when I read about Jason "breaking her heart" (even though it wasn't exactly his fault) I wanted my fanfic, that involves Reyna, for them to have a little "drama". Don't fret, LEYNA shall happen, I just wanted to have a little fun. Because honestly, anyone who didn't ship Jiper must have felt something, even if it's tiny, for Jeyna.

One again, Jiper shippers, leave while you can. I've already made Piper seem like a semi-bitch, so this can't be good. If you decided to stay, let me know so I can put on my bulletproof vest. Or shoud I say... armor. *BADUM TSS~*
