3. new years party

"Everything's set up" I smile

"Yay" Alex says

"The guests will be here soon so I have to finish getting ready be down in a few"

We rented out a hotel ballroom to throw the party and invited about everyone we know. It's going from 9:30 to 2:00. At 10:00 I come down, and everyone's here. My sisters dancing with Jack, Daniel is dancing with my friend Camila, Zach's talking to Jonah, Corbyn is no where to be found, and Alex is making his way to me. I force my smile larger. Alex kisses my cheek and says,

"Great turn out for something so last minute. Want a drink?"

"Yes I'm gonna go grab one"

"I'll get one for you?" He offers but I decline.

I need something strong. And I need to be "happy". I don't wanna be here with Alex.

I was so happy when we first started dating, I was so happy. But the more I'm with him the more I realize I don't want to be with him. The more I realize I want to be with Corbyn. But I couldn't breakup with him so close to the party that he planned just because I wanted a party. Corbyn didn't even show up so he must hate for when I said we are toxic.

I chug my drink and grab another one. I make my way through the party saying hi to my friends and to complete strangers. I walk around chugging drinks and getting new ones. I come across a drunken Alex grinding on some girl named Griffin way to into it for it to be okay. I walk over to him look at him and say we're done. But I'm not even upset. I continue to walk around chugging one drink after another.

I walk out of the party and no one even notices. I walk upstairs and to the roof. I see a blonde boy sitting there.

"HiIIiiIiI" I say

"Hope? Are you drunk?" Corbyn asks

"No... well maybe a little"

"You're so drunk you can barely stand" he chuckles "I've never seen you this way. Guess 21 looks a little different"

"I'm not as think as you drunk I am... wait what"

"Even when you're drunk you still quote songs"

"Haha" I walk closer to the edge of the roof.

There's a long pause of silence

"You know I could jump if this roof and no one would care."

I take my high heels off.

"Hope I'd care. What are you doing?"

I stay silent and climb on the cement railing the only thing that attempts to keep people on the roof.

"Hope please get down"

"Why should I? Why are you even here I thought you were mad at me"

"Why would I be mad"

"Cause I said that we're toxic." I walk along the railing.

"Hope I'm not mad but I'm heart broken. You tell me you love me but that we can't be together. Then you go and date Alex."

"Well me and Alex are no more"

"I'm sorry" he tries to sound genuine but it's not. "Hope get down please you're scaring me"

"Don't be all he did was make me realize that I'll never have what we had"

He opens and closes his mouth. Almost saying something but choosing not to.

"Corbyn I don't know what to do. All I want is you but I don't know how to trust you anymore. Sasha ruined things between us"

"Then give me one more chance to prove that I won't hurt you"

"Corbyn-"

He gets on the railing and kisses me.

Fireworks go off.
