Hello! I decided that I wanted to write a Japril fanfic. I'm not a writer AT ALL but I thought I'd give it a go! Please enjoy.

April's POV

Today is Harriet's birthday. Her first birthday. That means it's been almost two years since Jackson and I divorced. Two years? It feels like yesterday I asked him, "Do you really want this?" It was the right choice. He didn't love me anymore. I understood why. I left him. I knew the consequences of going to Jordan, but I went anyways. I had to go. I had to save all of those people. They needed my help. I had a choice that day: saving lives or being with the love of my life. That was one of the hardest decisions I ever had to make. Every day I regret my decision. There's plenty of doctors out there, but you only meet the love of your life once, and I ruined my chance at ever getting him back.

"Knock Knock!" I woke up to someone banging on the front door.

"Give me a second!" I say as I slowly get out of bed.

"Knock Knock!"

"I said hold on!" I yelled, getting a bit annoyed.

"Knock Knock!"

I rush to the door and swing it open; "WHAT!"

Arizona stared at me with a basket of muffins; "Good morning to you too." She says as she makes her way in the kitchen.

"It's 7:oo am and you're knocking on my door WHY?" I say following her into the kitchen.

"I know it's Harriet's birthday today and I know that you're sleep deprived and probably have no decorations for this party today AT ALL, so I figured I'd start your day with a basket of muffins and help you plan while you eat one." She stated as she hands me a muffin.

I take it from her and begin peeling the wrapper; "Thank you, and you're right. I have no idea how this party is gonna go. I've been so busy with work that when I'm off I just wanna spend time with Harriet at home for an hour or two, until it's time for her to go to bed. Then, I can't go anywhere because if I move her just a smidge she'll wake up and every time Jackson has her I still don't have time to do anything because I would either be behind on post ops or house chores or-"

"April." Arizona cut me off. "It's fine. We'll go shopping once she wakes up."

I nod as I begin eating the muffin.

"Have you spoke to Jackson lately? Will he be bringing Maggie?"

My stomach drops when I hear her name.

Maggie.

Maggie is Jackson's girlfriend. Not that I care, but still. I just don't like her.

"I'm not sure. " I say with an annoyed tone.

"Do you want her coming?" She asked me.

I looked at her with a fake smile; "Of course! The more the merrier!" I lied straight through my teeth. Hell no I don't want my ex husband's girlfriend at our daughters first birthday party!

"So, have you spoke to Jackson lately?" She repeated.

"No, why?"

"I just thought you would have met up to discuss the party plans or something."

"Oh, well we did a few days ago in the cafeteria, but then I was paged for an emergency surgery." I stated.

"What did you talk about?" Arizona asked, being the nosy person she is.

"The usual. How is your day? Are you taking Harriet tonight? Any big traumas?" I told her.

"Oh.. maybe you guys should meet up soon." She stated.
