Sam POV

I hear the crunch of the fallen leaves under my feet I hear the person gaining on me. I push myself to go faster making my legs burn, I look around to see if I can make my escape. I find a huge tree it looked to be close so I run faster I trip over a root and fall I get back up and start to run again. The pain in my ankle was excruciating, I duck down and hide behind the tree I don't hear anything at first then I slowly turn my head and he was there.

I wake up with the feeling of coldness sneaking it's way covering me like a icy blanket I slowly open my eyes, I let out a horrified scream to see my room completely covered in ice I see the lacy design climb itself up my walls. Oh shit I think my mom heard me what am I going to what is she going to say?!?! I can't just say I left my window open it's the middle of July! She won't believe that. Before I can react my mother and father burst into my room demanding what happened, my father is the first to see what is going on around him "dark magic" he mumbles under his breath "dark magic I knew you were troubled kid I knew it would lead to this you.. You. You monster!" It felt like knives cutting into my heart when I heard him call me a monster I hurry out of bed and grab what I could and run out of my house. I see my father holding my hysterical mother in his arms he had a phone to his ear probable the police or something but all I do is run, I hear the sounds of sirens in the distance "shit" I mumble under my breath.

The police are trained to 'deal' with kids like me I see it on the news all the time kids suddenly have un-natural things happened like what happened in my room. They take the kids to a place called natural state. They have doctors come and clear your blood of any signs of the 'bacteria' that makes you have your un-natural powers.

I duck behind a garbage can hoping to be able to hide the car goes in another direction. I come out from behind my hiding spot. "You really think they won't find you?"
