come here softly

before the silent dawn breaks

the sirens sound

the heed dissipates

the love is wasted

let's not pretend

the odds battle against us

we've been marked for this end

the love is wasted

a different dream

a different life

immortality would be nice

you know what's coming,

the dawn will break

the love is wasted

foolish and young

we wasted our love

the explosions ricochet

the ashes rain

the kiss of death

the love is wasted

our slumped bodies

could not bear the load

skin is left

fragile remains

reminders of our predestined fate,

arriving now

fragile remains

reminders of our misplaced hopes

the love is wasted
