So my school has a thing called the paws program. It is a program about rewarding good behavior, and it was one of the best ideas the introduced at first. It was a program that if you did something nice, you would get a paws card. It was a small, red, cardboard card. You would put it in a raffle to win prizes like a gift card. There is 10000 of these cards. Nothing too special about these cards, it not as bad as the other type of card.
The other type of card is called the Principals 100. It is a card that is rewarded to the kids who go above and beyond. Nothing harmful, just trying to get kids to behave, except that different people are held to different standards. The worst kids can get them easier than anyone else. When they said that people get them for going above and beyond, they meant for the individual, not in general. The bad kids get it off easy, because their standards are way lowers than a good kids. If a bad kid helps put away computers, they get a principals 100, but if a good kid does, there is a slight chance that they would paws card.
The system is unfair, but a bad kid is not only the only kids that get special attention. The teachers pet is also reward, sometimes better than the bad kids. One girl, not gonna reveal her name, got like 5, and most if them she did not deserve. Also she constantly got picked on during Christmas assemble.
Another thing that is stupid about this program is that there was an assemble where they took the cards that have already been put in a basket. Now, this would be fine and dandy if 2 things happened. 1. They told us about it. If they did everyone would have a fair chance, but for someone like me, who was saving up their cards, had no chance to participate in the assembly. 2. If you didn't have to watch. In this assemble, they forced you to watch the whole thing in the hot and sweaty gym. I sericiouly wanted to actually class work. That's shocking because it took up English, a subject I'm terrible at, and geography. (Granite we were watching Christmas movies in that class.) But to make it more inclusive to the people who didn't get picked, they had a dance off. A FUCKING DANCE OFF!! It was only 1 event out of the 10. It was the cringest and worst thing ever. But even more worst is that the school never seemed to fix their mistakes, because this happened every year during the Christmas assemble, only a few kids got to participate in them, and they got prizes.
Anyways, back on topic, here are some of the dumb ones I have seen.
"Asking a question and not getting mad."
"Helping me put the computers away."
"Being nice to the other students and helping them."
Like bitch, I do that everyday and I haven't got a single one. NOT ONE FUCKING CARD. The system favors other kids than me. Also I didn't mention that this is for a camera, wireless beets ear buds, a waterproof speaker, an IPad, and a 32 INCH PLAZMA TV.
Sorry I just had to get hat of my chest, and thanks for reading it all if you did.
