"No no! I'm just saying! You're a cute nerd," he smirked and side hugged her. "Don't worry. I'll try reading it. But you!" He took a long pause and put his hand on her back, pushing her deeper into the bookstore. "Need to read this book. Or else I'm not reading your nerdy book."
They walked through isles and isles of books and Alice was getting a little confused to where he was taking her.
"How long is this gonna take?" Alice whined.
"Oh don't worry it's close." Arthur ran and Alice latched on to his hand. "Slow down!"
She laughed. A real, genuine laugh. She hadn't felt herself this happy since her and Jason were dating.
They slowed to a stop at the corner of the bookstore where couples went normally to kiss and all the gross PDA stuff they do.
"Oh please don't tell me you took me here just to-" Arthur pushed his finger up to her lips.
"Hush. And close your eyes. It's a surprise." He whispered hotly into her ear.
The shivers reappeared.
"Okay. Open your eyes," he held a book in her face. It read Percy Jackson.
"You're calling me a nerd? Okay mister. I cannot believe you!" She laughed and pushed him; imitating what he did to her.
"But Alice! This is literally my favorite book! Please read it!" He begged and shoved it into her arms where she held it tight.
Alice chuckled, "Alright alright." She smiled and turned to head back to the counter.
"What a nerd." She murmured to what she thought was only herself. As she walked closer to the front of the store, she felt a hand grab her back and swivel her around so she was looking at Arthur.
"So about ice cream? You up for some?" He looked into her eyes and they twinkled.
"Well ice cream and my stomach do not go well together so maybe coffee?" She offered, looking at him.
"Yes! Yes of course! So do you wanna go to that coffee shop downtown and study or something?" He smiled; anticipating for an answer.
"Yeah! Sounds great! Uh, do you want to meet there or..." she questioned. Alice didn't even truly know the guy. What if he turned out to be an axe murderer who just pulled teenage girls into his car and then killed them and their families? Or was he just a gift from god and an amazing man?
"Oh I can pick you up if you tell me where you go to school." He pulled his phone out of his pocket.
"Oh yeah sure! Uh I go to Winchester. Where do you go? What grade are you even in?" Alice realized she didn't know a single bit about this guy standing in front of her and it was exhilarating.
"No kidding! I go to the same school! I've never seen you! I guess that just shows how big our school is." He exclaimed.
"Wow! Okay, how about tomorrow at 3:30? I can meet you in the library or something?"
"Uh how about four. I have lessons. But I could definitely meet you in the library."
This was actually happening! Alice thought that she would never get to this point in her social life. She wasn't exactly the most popular kid at school. She was involved in the fashion show club, the photo and video club, and the writers club; which she was president for.
"Okay."
Okay! I'll see you tomorrow." He smiled and looked at her with passion. Alice blushed and turned away.
"Stop looking at me like that!" She pushed a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
"I like looking at you. You please my eyes."

The next day at school, Alice couldn't stop thinking about Arthur. Throughout the day, she was quiet and kept to herself. She didn't want anything to go wrong today when they met up after school.
Later that afternoon, at around 2 o'clock, she got a text from Arthur, her heart pumped faster and faster and she felt a knot in her stomach. She was back into the routine of liking a guy.
He asked if she wanted to come wait for him in the band room since she had a lot of friends in band.
Thankfully, Alice had nothing else to do so she gave in and went there strait after school.
She made sure to get the book that Arthur recommended to her and her chemistry homework.
"Hey! Long time no see!" Arthur hugged Alice, squeezing her until she could hear his soft heart beat and the scent of his cologne.
His brunette hair had a bed head look to it. It was fluffy and was almost tangly.
