Its 6 a.m. when mom wakes me up. I only slept for like less than two hours.
"Cassey, you awake? Uncle Ed will be here in a few minutes to pick us up. You better get ready now." Mom said as she peeks her head at my door. "Yeah, I'm up." I said in my sleepy voice. My eyes still closed.
I stretched up my arms and yawned before I get up, and head to the living room. Simon was there sitting at the couch, watching T.V. while drinking his coffee. "Yo dude, your eyes look like swollen almonds!" he said teasing me but I ignored him. My eyes must have swollen so much because I cried last night and I didn't get enough sleep.
I made myself a peanut butter jelly sandwich and I drank some milk then I went and took a quick bath.
After my bath, while I was combing my hair at my room,
"Ed! So nice to see you after a very long time! How's mom?" I heard my mom said from the living room. I also went there to greet uncle Ed.
"Hi Uncle!" I greeted and he looked very shocked. "Is this our Cassey now? Last time I saw you, you were so little that I could put you inside my armpits." He said and I laughed and said "Ew, why'd you do that?".
Uncle Ed and Simon started putting our bags in the pick-up truck. Uncle Ed's pick-up truck can already give me that countryside feel just by looking at it. "You guys ready to go?" Uncle Ed asked us and I don't know what to answer him. I took a picture of my room before we left so that I could keep it to my memory.
I stared at the house before I ride the truck and whispered "Goodbye". Uncle Ed started the engine. I sat at the passenger's seat, mom and Simon are in the backseat, and now we're off.
This is it, I'm already leaving. I don't know what kind of life is waiting for me in the countryside. I suddenly thought of Vincent because I was thinking about texting him last night to tell that I'm leaving but I couldn't so I decided to text him now.
"Hi Vincent. Good Morning. I just want to tell you that I'm off to move at the countryside today with my family, sorry for not informing all of you guys earlier. I just want to say bye, and I guess we won't be seeing each other for a while. Take care always." I was hesitating to press the send button but I just pressed it anyway.
Then I felt my eyelids get heavy. I slept all throughout the trip because I didn't sleep well last night.
And the next thing I knew when I woke up. The cool countryside breeze is already brushing on my face.
