"No, you're not holding it right."

It was 12:07 and Calum had been trying to teach Aria how to skim a rock for the past 7 minutes that they had been at the lake.

They both took the time of meeting up seriously, literally getting there at midnight.

"I can't do this!" Aria groaned as she threw the rock onto the dock and sat down crossed legged.

Calum looked at her as he took in her beauty. He truly thought she was the most beautiful girl he's ever seen, apart from his mother of course. She had those big brown eyes that he could just melt into and completely forget about his surroundings. He honestly got so lost in them that he even sometimes blocked out what Aria was saying and just payed complete attention to just her eyes. He was surprised she hadn't caught him staring at them yet.

Or just staring at her in general.

He's been doing that a lot in the past two days of them knowing each other. He didn't even realise. Aria had him completely wrapped around her finger and neither one of them knew about it.

Calum was never one to be this attached to a girl within only two days of knowing her. But there was just something about Aria that kept pulling him closer to her. She consumed his thoughts for majority of the day, he just couldn't help himself. Everything somehow connected to her. He couldn't even look at the little droplets of rain from earlier that morning without thinking of her.

Rain.

Water.

Lake.

Aria.

He was in so deep and he honestly had no idea what to do about it.

"Here," Calum softly said grabbing Aria's hand and pulling her back up, "I'll guide you."

He took another rock from the ground and passed it to Aria. He then placed his hands on her waist and positioned her properly, before putting his hands on top of hers and fixing them up as well.

Aria flinched from the sudden contact but quickly relaxed. If it had been anyone else, she probably would have slapped them right then and there. But not with Calum. She felt a whole different feeling of security around him. It was a lot different to the way she felt safe with Ryan. Ryan was obliged to make her feel safe, he was her cousin. But Calum was just some guy she met the day before and she already felt as though she could trust him. But that was the thing, Calum wasn't just some guy to her. He was so much more than that.

And it honestly scared her to death.

"Now hold it exactly like this, and then you just flick your wrist and it should bounce on the water," Calum stated after fixing her hands in the right position, although he didn't remove his from hers.

"I kind of need my hands back if I'm going to that," Aria laughed softly at him as he blushed and removed his hands, looking at the ground.

"Right."

Aria smiled at him before focusing on skimming this damn rock along the water. Calum took this as another chance to observe her. It may sound creepy, but he didn't care. He just couldn't take his eyes off her. He took notice of the cute little creases that appeared when she knotted her eyebrows together. Her lips were pursed a little, she looked so concentrated. Calum tried biting back his smile, but failed miserably.

Aria did exactly what Calum had told her to do, she flicked her wrist and watched as the rock bounced upon the beautiful clear water before sinking completely.
