This Color Blinded Thing Called Love
Chapter 1

Kylie
The bell rang signaling the end of class and everyone made their way out of the room. I dropped my books off at my locker and made my way to the lunchroom. I grabbed some food and went to my usual table.
"Hey Kylie" my friend Samantha greeted me as I made it to the table. Samantha was my best friend since we were young, our moms being really good friends, and we were still great friends even now in senior year. Samantha was Asian with long black hair and was extremely beautiful.
"Hey Sam" I said taking a seat.
"Did you hear about the new student that's coming here tomorrow, I hope he's hot dude I need some eye candy" Samantha said her boy crazy side coming out.
"Is there ever a time you don't need eye candy" I asked her rolling my eyes.
"Well maybe if this school had hotter guys I can stop my complaining" she said with a sigh. I swear this girl can be over dramatic sometimes.
"Whatever Sam there are some hot guys here at north bridge high you just need to open your eyes more" I said making her roll her eyes "and yeah I did here about the new student, his name is Jordan and I have to give him a tour of the school tomorrow since I have a study hall first period and principle Howard just loves me" I said with fake enthusiasm cause even though I don't mind given a tour, I don't get off work till 11:50 on Monday's and with the 50 minute drive from my job to my house, I will prefer sleeping during my Tuesday study hall.
"Oh you lucky little sweet tart you get first dips on the new student. Ohhh you need to text me how hot he is as soon as you start the tour." she said bouncing with excitement.
"Okay Samantha" I said making her frown at me using her full name as we made our way out the door as the bell rang.
I attend north ridge high here In Chicago and the school is kinda diverse being 45% white, 20% black,15% Hispanic, 10%Asian, and 10%other. I like the fact that even though almost half of the school was white, everyone seemed to get along for the most part. Yeah you still had your little racist groups who though they serenaded and were considered popular but I never had an encounter with them and plan on keeping it that way, I'm African American and mixed with some other things I'm not sure of that make my skin a little lighter and my hair long and wavy but for the most part I consider myself African American.
The rest of the school day went by smoothly and I got into my car to make my way home to get ready for work.
Ever since my dad died I kept a job to help my mom out and even though she tells me all the time that she doesn't need my money and I need to enjoying my teenage years, I know that she works hard to keep the house the way it's always been and to save up for my college tuition. So even though she asks me not to, I still work to help her out so that will have some time rest instead of working 7 days a week.
"Hey mom" I said kissing her cheek as I made my way to my room to get ready.
"Hey baby, I made you some dinner, I'm going to be heading out now, call me when you get to work" she said while quickly grabbing her things and heading out the door.
