Maybe it was traveling with a larger crowd. Maybe Lady and I had just more or less teleported when Whitestar took us to the camp. Melissa thought when they came across a small house. The house was made of aged stone, with some faded blue wood paneling. There was moss covering the roof.

"A house!" Nami ran as fast as her swollen paws would let her. Her excitement echoed in the others, "Maybe there are humans!"

"They may not be friendly to cats," Kirito warned, joining by her side and blocking Nami's path with his tail.

"Could we at least try?" Gracie winced, leaning against Toby, "I don't think I can move anymore." Her coat was stained again with a thin coat of crimson. Her shark bites had reopened a little bit and some blood was oozing out again.

Melissa, Blake, Sasha, and Toby scouted the property. Lady stayed back to tend to Gracie's new bleeding. The farm contained a small barn, a chicken coop, and two apiaries. The barn and chicken coop was abandoned but the apiaries were overrun by honey bees. A small garden by the house and the orchard of trees were all overgrown with weeds but some of the crops were still thriving. Toby braved looking into the house from one of the large white windows. Everything was covered in dust. "It's abandoned." Toby announced to the group. The cats were able to get into the inhabited home through a rotted out wooden panel. There they spent the night, huddled together to stay warm.

Nami's scream woke the cats from their deep slumber. The grey American longhaired she-cat was laying on her side. Her swollen belly expanded and deflated rapidly. Her breath was quick and shallow. Lady jumped up from her resting place with the others and joined Nami's side. "Calm..." Lady placed a paw on Nami's belly. The others watched on as Nami progressed. Lady stayed by her side the entire time, soothing the fellow she-cat as the contractions hit. The first kitten arrived; a small grey female. Lady helped clean the kitten off and placed her onto her mother to nurse as the second kitten arrived; another girl. Lady repeated the process with this kit and two more times with small males. "Congratulations, four healthy kittens." Lady purred. Nami smiled weakly and licked the nearest kit to her. The others cheered.

The group gave Nami time to nurse her kits and rest. During that time a few went off to hunt for prey and others took this time to get a bit more rest. The sun was high in the sky by the time Nami was feeling well enough to stand on her own feet. Normally it was better for a mother and her kits to rest for a day or two after birth but they had already spent more time than they should at the abandoned farm.
