The thing growled and Callah slowly turned around to face whatever the thing was. When she saw the thing, she tried to hold back her scream. Standing right in front of her was a 4 ft. tall, 3 ft. wide, pitch-black wolf. It had its ears pinned to its head and a snout  pulled back, filled with sharp, pearly-white canines.

It was growling menacingly, and she fought another scream just begging to escape her throat. 'What do I do?' Callah thought worriedly, as she racked through her brain for something to help her in this situation. Then she remembered something she saw on the internet. It might (probably will) not work, but it was better than nothing.

She slowly lowered herself to the ground, looking as non-threatening as she could. She knew that putting herself in this kind of position was making her very vulnerable, and it was against everything in her better judgement, but this was her only option. Running would activate (sounds robotic...) its prey drive and chase instinct, and fighting the wolf would just get her killed because she had no strength in her arms.

She put her head to the ground, and made her hearing the most prominent sense she had. She could hear its heavy breathing, the wind picking up, footsteps, leaves crunching, a growl... Footsteps!

She started panicking thinking that the people had found her, and started whimpering. To her surprise, she heard the  wolf whimper, and the leaves crunch under its paws. She heard another howl, and she heard the leaves in front of her crunch and get farther away as she assumed the wolf was going towards its companion.

She looked up, and confirmed her thoughts as she saw the black blur in the distance, getting smaller and smaller. "How I wish this was just another one of my distorted reality things.." she said quietly, then went to go find a tree to climb to rest in for the night. She walked a bit father into the trees before she found a sturdy enough tree to rest in for the night. When she was about to climb in it, she heard a masculine voice in her head say, "We shall meet again someday, my child."

'This has become one of the weirdest days of my life. I wonder what other adventures I will encounter,' she thought sarcastically.

Sorry that this chapter is so small, but I didn't know what else to do with this day. I hope you liked it, and point out anything that I could change or make better! Have a good day/night and I shall see y'all in the next chapter!
