Prelude to Darkness

Ding Dong!

Sounds of the door ringing alerted the slender and smooth skinned female who seemed to be enjoying a hot bubble bath with a glass of the most expensive wine she could find. She huffed slightly and slowly climbed out of the bath, her pale naked body being fully exposed besides the few foaming bubbles which rested over her skin.

Swiftly grabbing a towel and drying off the woman left the bathroom wrapping a velvet robe around her, after getting only a few feet from the door she stopped and thought for a second.

‘ Who could be at my door this late in the night.’ she thought thus being cautious she reached over towards the flower pot beside the door where she hid a simple crafted hunting knife. Opening the door slowly and hiding the gun behind her back the woman paused briefly stunned but quickly recollected her thoughts and greeting her old friend with a smile.

“ Ah if it isn't my good friend Doctor Adam, what brings you to my vacation home which by the way...is considered a location owned by the government meaning it's a secret.”  Although her tone was a little cold the smile on her face never faded.

The man known as Doctor Adam was seen as really tall, standing at the height of 6’6. His back slightly hunched over, his face barely visible due to his thick beard and unruly amount of messy shaggy jet black hair, but his eyes were the most noticeable almost glowing in the dark, these pair of eyes that he owned were crimson red similar to a demons.

“ Aurora...you already know that long as he can get even a little sniff of something having to do with the government it's never safe…”.

“Tsk...that little snake, when I find him I'll make sure to skin him alive!” She said clearly understanding what Adam meant thus it made her even more pissed off to the point she threw her knife striking the flower pot shattering it but also having the knife dig deep into the brick wall.

Adam laughing nervously backed away slightly. “ It never stops to amaze me how much strength you hold…” He went on but was stopped by a slim finger pressing on his lips.

“Adam...you know I can only take a C-rank Monstrous Beast….and as for an Ancient ... let's not even think about...plus after that incident my power had gradually weakened thus I'm basically useless.” She expression saddened.

Adam wanted to console her with a few words but the way she looked putting on a fake smile made his heart ache and stomach curl up. He swallowed the saliva building up in his mouth then finally spoke.

“Aurora..the real reason I've come is to ask for a favor.” Unlike before Adam's tone got a lot more serious than normal.

Aurora gathered herself and sighed softly. “Of course I'd help you, after all you've done for me it's the least I can do. So what is it?” She asked in a curious manner.

Adam turned to the van within the driveway and answered her with only a few words. “He's in there.”

Aurora pointed to the black van with a giant picture of a tiger on it, Adam nodded and lead her to the back opening the trunk revealing a young boy around the age of 10 sleeping peacefully on the floor. His hair was jet black and his skin was smooth similar to a baby's.

Aurora studied his body further and turned to Adam with a shocked and disgusted expression. “Adam!? What in the hell have you done!? And to such a young boy at that! Such dark aura... it's filled with hate and death.”

Adam stayed silent for a bit then after gathering enough courage he spoke. “....In order to save him from heart failure he needed a new heart...but no human heart could stabilize correctly thus my only option was to use the heart of beast..no an Ancient. Those who knew of my research will be after me as well as him... please take care of him, teach him not to hate, not to kill, but to protect...please help me...help my son...help...Sai.”
