Dear Childhood Friend,
You've been with me forever, through good and bad, as cliche as it sounds. I grew up to be a thunder storm, you grew up to be poetry. I promised to never let you fade away, and I'm sorry if I ever made you feel as though you had. Some days I convince myself I need no one, but it's easy to assume that when you have someone to lean on. Thank you, and I love you. Even if you don't want to say the same.
Dear First Love,
The firsts are always the worsts, because you fall too far, too fast. I never realized until it was far too late, and I'll remember you throughout my life, because I gave a piece of myself to you. If you keep it, I don't know. And someday, I won't care if you do. Thanks for the memories, even though they weren't so great, looking back.
Dear Damaged Friend,
I have a habit of picking up damaged people. But you, by far, are the strongest amongst them. Against all odds you have made it, and you've made it without my help. I'm sorry I've come on the scene late, but let it stand as a reminder to both of us that you don't need me, and you never will, but I hope to make the ride a little easier.
Dear Younger Me,
Most would expect the pep talk of "don't quit" but instead, I urge you to not fall. Don't fall for the ones that don't love you. Don't believe in what isn't true. Don't force yourself to see the silver lining, because some days it isn't there. Don't waist time being something you aren't. Be better than I turned out to be.
Dear Ones Who Believe in Me,
Thank you. And I know I don't reach out to you all as often as I should, but I see every encouraging comment, every "I'm here for you", and every word of advice. I promise I'll be better, for all of you, because I would want you all to do the same for me. Thanks. And don't give up on me just yet.
