"I'm home." John huffed. He hung his coat to the cupboard, looking around in the small house. He gazed at the picture, that was hanging on the wall. Alex, he thought. I drew this.
He went to his room to change his clothes to wear something casual again. He found a t-shirt to wear, it was pretty hot outside after all. When he was half-way, he heard the phone buzz. He sighed, ignoring the messages at first. But it buzzed again. Again. Again. He didn't bother to put the shirt on now. He had to see those messages.
He opened the phone and wrote the password. He opened the messages to see what it was. It was an unknown number, or more specifically a deleted number. Oh, John knew he this was. He knew it very well.
"To the park." He read.
"Half an hour later. Better be there, Laurens." John looked at the text in disgust. Charles Lee.
John sat on the bed and wrote back. "What's the business again?" He waited for Lee to see the text, tapping on his knees impatiently. Finally he saw, and wrote back. "You have something that belongs to me. Get someone for defense." Lee wrote back. John wouldn't care to write back. "K."
He threw the phone to the bed and got on his feet to wear the t-shirt he planned to wear. He wore it and went to the living room. He huffed as he saw the couple again. "Cuddles for days." John said, putting small smile on his face, rolling his eyes. "Cuddles for years." Lafayette answered back, practically sitting on Hercules.
"What do you need, J?" Hercules asked quietly. Lafayette pulled him into another kiss again. John seeked an answer in his mind but figured out that Hercules was too infatuated to care now. "Nevermind." John sighed.
The creak as the door opened snapped John out of his thoughts. John looked back at the door as he heard the French accent again. "WELCOME, MON AMI!" John wondered how Lafayette understood that it was Alexander.
"Ugh." Alexander rolled his eyes as he entered the hall. John shrugged at his reaction to being welcomed. John wanted to get to the topic right away. He stepped to his front to face him. "Alexander." He said."John." Alexander said, replying to his name being called. "What is it again?" He asked. John looked down, rubbing his own arm. "We need to duel with Charles Lee again it's half an hour lat-" John's fast speech was cut of by Alexander.
"John, I have to go somewhere.." He said, looking down. John glanced at him. He knew that he was lying, his eyes were twitching and he was rubbing his hands anxiously. John talk after a small pause. "You are lying. You are meeting Thomas Jeffer-ugh, whatever." He rolled his eyes angrily. "I'll be there next time." Alexander looked at him, trying to make excuses in his mind."No you won't. Alex, you have to be there, you are my closest friend!" John said, practically begging. He looked at his friend. Alexander sighed. "I'm sorry, John, I just.."
"No, you are not." John almost spit. As he was getting ready, he heard a voice. "Alexander. Why aren't you helping your friend?" He heard the teasing voice, mixed with heel noises and french accent. Alexander was clueless now, he looked at John for help.
"So, one party and Jefferson is your everything?" Lafayette said, his voice deeper and more serious. Alexander didn't know how to answer that. "One party and he is more important than helping your friend's enemies?" Lafayette looked all over Alexander. "Non, that's so selfish, Alexander Hamilton." Lafayette paused to take a deep breath.
"If he is, I would like to tell you to move in with him instead."
Alexander's eyes widened, looking at Lafayette in front of him. He was serious, more serius than ever. "You are out of your mind. What are you doing to help John? You think you are better than me? You think he's better than me?" Alexander said, his voice getting louder at every word.
"Laf, you really don't ha-" John was cut again, anxiously looking around.
"At least he is loyal to his friends." Lafayette whispered angrily. He looked right into Alexander's eyes, never letting a glimpse of happiness. Alexander was so done. He was loyal. Wasn't he? He had to be. He was. Alexander felt as if he was about to cry. The mixture of sadness and disappointement turned into anger, and he couldn't control it.
"AT LEAST I'M NOT CRYING OVER PEOPLE THAT AREN'T JUST INTERESTED IN ME!" He yelled. He was so loud that Hercules even turned his head. Now everyone was looking at Alexander. Lafayette shook his head as Alexander's realization flooded back. He covered his mouth with his hand, looking at John.
John was crying. He looked back at Alexander. Alexander was dying inside now. He stuck out a hand to touch John's shoulder. "John, I didn't mean-" John slapped his hand away quickly. "D-Don't touch me." John opened the door to shut it roughly when he got out.
"GET THE FUCK OUT!" Hercules' voice was the last thing he heard before leaving the apartment.
___"Greetings." John said as he stood in the park. He rolled his eyes, his hands in his pocket. Lee looked at his friends, smirking slightly. He turned his back, signing the squad to turn his back as well.
"Welcome, John Laurens, where is your friend, eh?" George said, trying to keep his fur coat from getting dirt on it. John could see a man, standing next to Charles Lee. He saw him talking to Alex once, he didn't know him though. He realised that they were actually waiting for an answer.
"He's..busy." John mumbled. The trio looked at each other before walking towards John, grinning.
“Let’s get this started.”
