Karter Legend
Kenji Franklin
Legend sighed as she looked at the notebook that was placed in front of her, she had various notes, test from previous class sessions, and her laptop spread all around her. These finals were kicking her behind, but this was her first year in college and she wanted nothing but to achieve the satisfaction of have A’s on every last one of them. Did she feel dumb for waiting trying to cram? Absolutely. But she had been studying along the way, it was her final review that got her shook. She had a bunch of things depending on this.
Running a hand down her face, the young woman let out a quiet groan. Mr. Sixson’s work was killing her. She couldn’t understand for the life of her why he made it his duty to go, and give a review to stuff that he’d never thought. Legend never considered herself a mathematician but she did what she needed to do.
Little did she know, that across the library she had someone watching her, not in a creepy way of course. But more so admiring her, well trying to his friends were currently being loud laughing at something one of them said. She couldn’t understand for the life of her, why they were deciding to be loud in the library...the library.
“Y’all niggas shut up, she over there studying.”
“Man fuck that bit-”
“Finish it. You better look up, and observe who that is.” Kenji spoke looking at his friend, before making quick eye contact with her.
He watched as she quickly look around the library, trying to find a distraction. Chuckling he shook his head, at the young woman's actions.
“My bad I ain’t know who it was.”
“Yeah, act like you know nigga.”
