Green Fire (A TMNT FF)

"Oh YEAH!"

Mikey cried triumphantly, jumping down onto the rooftop. "Mutagen! Whop, whop!"

He picked up the glowing green canister in his hand and did a little happy dance.

His brothers landed next to him on the dark apartment rooftop, the moon casting shadows over New York.

"Nice job Mikey." Leo said with a nod.

"Yeah, now only fifty more jars of ooze to go. Yay." Raphael growled, leaning on a wall.

As his brothers started to tell him off, on a window ledge far away, eyes scanned the scene. Lips pulled down in a snarl, revealing dagger-like teeth. A hiss sounded and the creature launched itself off the window ledge.

"I'm telling you Raph, maybe if you'd lighten up-" Donny was cut off by a shadow descending from the sky.

"DUCK!" Leo yelled as the four brothers threw their hands over their heads. Razor sharp talons snatched up the canister of mutagen in a flash, then was gone in an instant, becoming a speck of darkness in the sky.

"Hey!" Raph yelled in protest, running over the rooftops after the winged thief. Leo called for him to come back, but the hot headed mutant ignored him.

Raphael spotted the glow of mutagen in the starless sky, and expertly threw a ninja star at the beast. There was a screech as the thief fluttered it's wings and went in for a crash landing.

Raph smiled triumphantly as he leaped down into the alley where the thing had crashed.

"Alright you ugly mutant, get ready to-" Raphael's warning was cut off when he the dumpster he was sure the creature had landed in was empty.

Confused, he leaned towards it, then he felt a powerful kick delivered to his shell. He yelled and fell into the dumpster which's lid was slammed shut. He yelled and pounded at the lid in protest, but the only response was the sound of someone scrambling away.

The ninja kept yelling until the lid was lifted and his brothers pulled him out.

"Did you get them?" Mikey asked as Raph climbed out of the trash.

"I got locked in a dumpster, do you think I got them?" Raphael replied angrily.

"What was that thing?" Leo asked, staring at the sky.

"I don't know, but it got away with our mutagen." Donnatello said glumly.

"It was so fast! I didn't even get to see it. How am I supposed to give a cool name, to something I can't see?" Mikey pouted. Donny shrugged.

"Come on, let's get back to the lair." Leo said sadly as the brothers dashed away, and a creature's eyes watched their movements, a glowing green canister in it's grasp.
