Preface:

It's hard being the only profeta in the family. Being the first in centuries is even worse.

Chapter One:

I woke up screaming.

My skin was on fire. I was going to die without ever telling my family goodbye.

"Azaileah! You are fine! It's okay. It isn't you!" I heard my mother, Valerie, exclaim as she held my head to her shoulder, forcing me to calm down.

I was completely exhausted from my vision, not to mention petrified at what I'd seen, but my mom made me tell her about the boy I'd seen in the forest.

He was about 17 years old and had curly black hair with smooth tanned skin and icy blue eyes. He was a shifter, and by the looks of it panther.

And he was going to save my life.

Chapter Two:

"Hey Leah! Get your tush over here!" My best friend, Juniper Ortega, yelled from across the lunch room.

Smiling I went quickly over to Juniper's table and realized he was holding Demetria Robinson's hand. In public.

"So you guys finally came outta your shells!" I said grinning like a maniac.

Demetria smiled impishly her violet eyes burning with happiness as she said,"You could say that."

"Leah," Juniper said, face becoming grim as he pointed behind me.

Confused I turned around and gasped loudly. It was him.

Chapter Three:

"What's wrong? What's going on?" Demetria asked confused as ever, the corners of her mouth turning down in a pout.

Since I had told Juniper about my vision first I thought he would have told Demetria all about my vision of the boy across the room.

I looked at Juniper expectantly and he sighed, turning to his girlfriend and explained what was going on as I watched the boy who was going to save my life.

***

I was standing by my desk in spellcasting class trying to learn the offensive spell when someone tapped my shoulder.

Turning on my heels started,"yes? What do you..." I stopped and stared at the guy standing in front ofe.

It was him.

My breathing sped up and my heart jumped in my throat. I was petrified of what being face-to-face with this guy meant.

It meant for certain that my vision was true. It meant I was going to die.
