As I sat down in a far corner at the back of the library I had a strange feeling in my stomach. A tingling made my abdomen feel as if it were being ripped open and my hands were suddenly tingly to. No they were glowing a weird purple and I fell out of my chair onto my knees with the intense pain broiling through my stomach.

I looked at my hands in horror as they started to take on a purple flame that seemed to be coming out of the pores in my hands. At least the burning had stopped, I thought as I balled my hands into fist and then put one flaming hand behind my head and flung it forward to watch a ball of flame shoot through the wall; leaving a large, charred hole in it.

The few people who were behind the library at the time turned and looked at me with weird looks on their faces.

"What? Have you never seen a girl burn a hole in the wall?" I asked sarcastically, putting my hands up in fake fury and watched as they walked away.

Later that day i walked home looking at my hands trying to learn how to make my hands flame again as they had earlier.

"Boo!" My older brother, Dax, said; grinning.

Dax was the absolute sweetest brother ever, but he was also half human. We had different dads, making his upbringing rougher than most at school. He was 'bout 6 foot 5 with shaggy blonde hair, unlike my black hair, smooth fair skin, again unlike my naturally tan skin, and like me, had bright maroon eyes. He was a Sophmore in college and worked at the famous Starbucks.

Since Dax's smile made it impossible to not smile back i was grinning as I asked how his day was going and how his girlfriend, Emery, and him were going.

When I got inside the house I broke off our chitchat and ran upstairs to my bedroom to see if MIZZGLORIOUSBIATCH, my internet friend, was online. I needed her research skills and her advice.
